About: "Angels Underground at the Grand Army Plaza" subway station -- The article says the mosaic is "meant to evoke the triumphant angels on top of the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch right outside the station."
Has anyone been to the top of the GAP arch? I went there some time ago and you can walk the spiral stairs to the top and see the sculptures close up, plus a great view of Brooklyn. When last I phoned Prospect Assoc., in charge of the GAP, they said the Arch is now closed to the public. Something about water leaks and the aging of the structure. Also, at that time it closed in July due the extreme heat inside.

I wonder how dated these industrial kitchens in brownstones will look in ten years. Or maybe quality never goes out of style. Somebody famous cooks here, can't remember who.

Good point, Mopar. Thanks for your comment or I wouldn't have noticed this story.

I think that kitchen is great. Although the HVAC duct may look industrial, the rest of it is almost classic. I would not have that shelf though, I'd add a few more wall cabinets with frosted glass doors. I think that kitchen would appeal to a lot of people. I'd also like the island to have the counter extended in front for some casual seating.
