After a long discussion, multiple conference calls, emails and legal representation, Biff has allowed me to post the FGVOTD since he is on vacation.
I hope there are no further celebrity deaths this week;

Maybe we should nominate those celebs we would like to see less of.
Posted by: DeLepp at June 29, 2009 9:24 AM
He died, ditto. He was only 50 and he had been on a US Airways flight the night before and hit his head when there was tyrbulence. They don't know if that had anything to do with his death yet.
Posted by: daveinbedstuy at June 29, 2009 9:24 AM
a Natasha Richardson type thing?
Posted by: dittoburg at June 29, 2009 9:28 AM
A tragedy for him and his his family, but I won't miss the commercials with him screaming which are 25% louder than whatever is on.

poor billy mays. who's next? predictions?
i saw a prediction of kasey kasem. dick clark could be in line.

I'd like to say that today marks the first day for the next 2 months where trains are free of NYC public school kids, teachers and personnel which means more seating!
yes!

I predict more assaults on subway employees since the fares rose $0.25 as of today.

So yesterday I took my kids to the playground behind PS 282 between Lincoln and Berkeley. There is a basketball court right next to the playground. There were a bunch of guys playing ball who stopped to smoke a big blunt, and the smoke wafted right into all the kids playing in the sprinklers. Really strong smell. I gave them the stink-eye and all, but any one of those guys could have kicked my ass so there was only so much I could do. I'm all for live and let live when it comes to that stuff, but smoking next to a playgound full of kids? Upwind? That's just fucking rude.
Posted by: lechacal at June 29, 2009 9:43 AM
Rob, except for the ones going to summer school, a category which thankfully does not include me!
I missed the Friday OT, but my best Michael-related memory is from Kerman, Iran. We were in a restaurant and one of the musicians (the group was playing traditional Persian songs) asked us where we were from. We told him, and the response was instant: "Oh, Amrika! We play for you Michael Jackson!"
Posted by: sixyearsandcounting at June 29, 2009 9:50 AM
"Gonna make a change
For once in my life."
I heard on TV that the burning MJ suffered in 1984 was the start of his transformation from normal to freakish. Seemed plausible.

i found a metrocard with 19 bux on it on the street btw :)
which is great cuz i don't get my monthlies for another few days.
and gemini, yes the trains are so much less crowded. i took the M train this morning instead of the R since it passed and after a few stops, i was the ONLY person in the entire car. it was creepy! i thought maybe something happened and no one told me!
and remember that article about the R being the dirtiest train? i started looking around and i was like wow, it really is the skank train.

"That's just fucking rude."
Yeah, which was probably what they were aiming at...
Another reason to walk the few extra blocks to the park on 5th and 3rd (other reasons: more shade, they've opened up the grass field, and farmer's market on Sundays).

"we should have a celebrity death pool!
*rob*"
that is pretty low, even for you, rob.
Posted by: randolph at June 29, 2009 10:04 AM
Randolph - Rob's idea isn't all that different from newspapers writing obits in advance - how do you think all that MJ coverage was put together in a matter of seconds?
Posted by: Arkady at June 29, 2009 10:06 AM
Anyone watch the BET Awards last night?
Posted by: gemini10 at June 29, 2009 10:07 AM
" Rob's idea isn't all that different from newspapers writing obits in advance "
you are a moron. newspapers aren't making bets about who is going to die, they are just being prepared so they can print the story right away. in a 24hr news world they have no choice.
people on a real estate blog making bets about who will die next is sickening.
Posted by: randolph at June 29, 2009 10:09 AM
I was scrolling down and this caught my eye
"i don't get my monthlies for another few days"
I swear to god I thought it was some nasty girl talking about her 'monthlies'.
Of course when I looked to see who Miss Nasty was, turns out it's Rob.

World Cup, less than a year away!
Posted by: infinitejester at June 29, 2009 10:09 AM
Arkady, that was actually surreal. They had all these specials with footage about MJ this whole weekend about his life story and I was saying to myself that no way they put this together, cut and edited it in 2 days.

Posted by: randolph at June 29, 2009 10:17 AM
randi, I think you'd be voted to the top of the list!!!!
Posted by: daveinbedstuy at June 29, 2009 10:19 AM
Randolph - You're really grasping at straws to find some bone of contention. Go work it out on the public school thread.

Ha ha ha Dave. You have my vote on that one.

Posted by: Arkady at June 29, 2009 10:25 AM
randi, reading comprehension my dear. I just said you'd probably wind up at the top of the list. I didn't reveal anything about MY preferences. ;)

I do not think the burn on top of his head had as much to do with MJ's weird behavior as the schizophrenia inside his head.
He took meds for schizophrenia. Evidently his lungs were diseased as well. He was a mess. As I posted on Friday, in a way it is amazing he made it to 50. Elvis died in this forties, Mozart (who wrote to friends about "hearing voices" in his head died in his thirties). It also looked to me like he was anorexic. Karen Carpenter dies around age 50....so it goes.

Posted by: Joe from Brooklyn at June 29, 2009 10:35 AM
i agree with the schizophrenia diagnosis. most men who get it, usually begins to appear in their 20s and it just gets progressively worse. isnt that around the time he started getting a little bit freakytown? i mean there's eccentric, and then there's psychologically disturbed. i did always find his antics funny though. oh look at me randi, laughing at the mentally incapitated. im going to hell!
*rob*
Posted by: PitbullNYC at June 29, 2009 10:36 AM
I think you have to be schizophrenic to do that to your face. The doctors who did it to him, on the other hand, have no excuse.
I heard about Billy May's death. Interesting to read here that it may have been caused by a bump in the head ala Natasha Richardson.

I tried Cafe Grumpy and their $10,000 Clover machine coffee. Iced coffe after 2 hrs. w/ melted ice cubes still "good to the last drop." Gotta say, probably smoothest most drinkable cup I ever had.
Posted by: Joe from Brooklyn at June 29, 2009 10:50 AM
does cafe grumpy give you a cup of ice with like 1 ounce of coffee in it? that is my biggest pet peeve (only second to the concept of Apple)!
*rob*
Posted by: PitbullNYC at June 29, 2009 10:58 AM
If you mean the company Apple and its products, they are no longer a concept.
Posted by: daveinbedstuy at June 29, 2009 11:01 AM
The coffee was European style, extra strong ( if you've ever been to a northern Euro country you know the real Vienna roast is DARK), the cubes were a welcome dilution, but as strong as it was, not bitter.
Posted by: Joe from Brooklyn at June 29, 2009 11:02 AM
i know it's not a concept. maybe that wasnt the word i was looking for.. i dont know. maybe i meant the apple kool-aid machine. that still doesnt sound right.

I drank the Apple kool aid and because of that I've never had a virus on my laptop. Nor do i get pop ups. Can't say the same about the countles PCs I've had.
The only gripe I have is that they never supplied instructions for keystrokes. It took me awhile to figure out the equivalent to the F5 Refresh and Ctrl-Alt-Del

Hiya Dumbasses! I got a Hard On reading this story and you know why? This is your future.
Madoff Cursed by Victims Who Scavenge Food, Bottles (Update1)
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=aotxaZMe71lA
"June 29 (Bloomberg) -- Victims of Bernard Madoff’s $65 billion Ponzi scheme branded him at his sentencing hearing as “beast” who had ruined their lives, forcing one to scavenge for food in Dumpsters."
ROTFYASMMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe they can fight the Hipsters for stale shrimp!
Madoff “discarded me like road kill,” said Mirian Siegman, of Stamford, Connecticut, today at the hearing in Manhattan. She now relies on food stamps, collecting recyclable bottles and digging through Dumpsters.
I willing to bet that a 3 years ago this genius was the "Smartest person in the room".
"Madoff “shattered my dreams” when he lost her mother’s inheritance, said Sharon Lissauer, a model who lives in Manhattan. Victim Sheryl Weinstein, of Manhattan, said she was a longtime friend of the money manager, calling him “a beast” for losing her investment. She said her son had worked for Madoff years ago.
"
What no "Reach Around"??? Oh man this is fun!!!!
"Madoff has shown “no remorse,” said victim Carla Hirschhorn, of Manalapan, New Jersey, at the hearing. She told Chin her life is a “living hell,” her mother is dependent on social security and her daughter works two jobs to pay tuition. “Don’t fail us,” she told the judge."
What??!!! You have to "work" to get somewhere in life??!! You mean I can't be a millionaire on paper???!!!
T-Minus 4 months 'tards..... Tick Tick.. Tick.....

Does anyone believe that those three little white children of his are biologically related to him? They don't look like biracial children.
Posted by: sam at June 29, 2009 1:33 PM
Yes, I don't think anything about this guy's life is believable after a certain point (like age 12). He slept with (other people's) children! They described waht his penis looked like! Sick POS. 'nuff said.

Bi-racial children can run the entire spectrum of looking totally like one parent or the other & something of a mix.
Posted by: Arkady at June 29, 2009 2:00 PM
Joe, K&M was fun. Chill crowd, cute hipster girls (can't speak for the guys since I didn't pay attention to any), played MJ pretty much all the time, CHEAP booze, not pretentious at all, might bump into DH there.
Pretty much sums it up.

"They don't look like biracial children."
Officially, today's dumbest statement.
Posted by: East New York at June 29, 2009 2:07 PM
Bi-racial children look like Obama did when he was a little boy, or like Holly Berrie, or like two little kids on my block, some take more towards one side of the family than the other but they are not tow-headed like his youngest.
I can just imagine MJ, picking the Mom, then picking the sperm donor in order to "make" the perfect chid. I guess there is no law against that, it's just SO WEIRD!
Posted by: sam at June 29, 2009 2:08 PM
exactly. which is why i get upset when people think im making a joke that theoretically i COULD very well be biracial. there were no paternity tests back then and my mother was with a lot of men.

I thought MJ wore the mask sometimes because of the plastic surgery problems of his nose. I still think he died of a *broken heart*. The media was brutal to him for years. Now they adulate him again because he brings in audiences for the multi-million-dollar salaried media hawks.
Hadn't heard about the schizophrenic (sp?) thing yet. It seems he was tortured first by his dad, and later by the media. Can't those things lead to schizo? I think the press will be twisting things about him in death, just as it did in life.
Posted by: BklynSoFar at June 29, 2009 2:22 PM
Rob if you really want to know what race you might be - I want to say I read or saw on TV about DNA tests you can take that will search certain gene pool makeups that tend to be categorized by race?
am soo not sure about this and of course not sure you need to have dna samples from your parents(which you only would have 1 side -correct)
it might be interesting for you to pursue

I don't think you're a nut. ENY- Sam is anything but stupid -- that is name-calling too. IMO Sam was just trying to make an observation. People are concerned for kids in grief over a father's death. I don't know all the PC terms. For instance some of Dibs, DQ and all of the Q's. Could be BQE to me.

East New York last week was a turning point for me! I was very upset because the Brownstoner Community did not chastise Dave for his use of the "N Word" and that lead me to believe that everyone shares that viewpoint. There was no reason for him to spell it out and I found that very disgusting and to top it off he gives a "Conditional Apology" WTF is that crap???!! So now I'm at DEFCOM 4 and I really don't give a crap about any one here (Yeah you read that right) because Brownstoner and the posters on this Blog could've said something about Dave's behavior and the use of a dirty longtime racial slur was uncalled for!

gemini- at one time that was a question I asked too (when it was a distinct possibility I would have kids). Finally we decided we would tell our kids to put however they perceived themselves- frankly, "human being" seems to still be the best definition. :-)

Rob, your posts were so funny last week I was LOL a bunch of times -- wish I could remember them all.
One was the play-on-words with Sam about a person of/or with "substance". Another was a (yenta type): $100 for a boyfriend; $50. for a girlfriend. You have a comic gift with turning things around. Also with your social observations, it seems you could be a novelist.
BTW, I wonder what it costs for a couple of good parents.

"Oh, and BRG too, whatever happened to her."
She called me, she's just taking some time off to focus on other things. I miss her!
Posted by: cobblehiller at June 29, 2009 3:04 PM
"ENY- Sam is anything but stupid -- that is name-calling too."
I didn't call "sam" stupid. I said his COMMENTS were stupid (and idiotic). As dittoburg said, genetically, it's ENTIRELY possible for a kid not to resemble his parents in many respects. Not only mixed-race kids, but even kids of the SAME race can differ significantly in looks from their parents. Doesn't always happen, but it's certainly possible. By saying bi-racial children "look like Obama did when he was a little boy, or like Holly Berrie, or like two little kids on my block," "sam" is claiming that ALL children of mixed race look the same. There's a famous (and insulting) saying to this effect with regards to black people, but I won't go there. Regardless of whether or not he was trying to make an "observation," "sam's" comment is simply idiotic.
Posted by: East New York at June 29, 2009 3:05 PM
"And he's never been man enough to acknowledge the apology."
Allow me to address this right here. First I don't see a man but a punk hiding behind Covert Race/Class Warfare! Dave could've issued the Apology right away and that would've be OK for me but he was very belligerent and gave a conditional apology.
As someone that lives among Black People and using that type of language speaks volumes to me and I realize it's not about everyone, it's about "US".
Dave you are on mute baby...

DIBS - to tell you the truth, I'm not bothered one way or the other about that slur - I've been harassing him because he constantly uses slurs and then hypocritically claims he doesn't. Everything he accuses other people of being - mainly "hypocrite" or "racist", he himself is the epitome of.
Posted by: dittoburg at June 29, 2009 3:09 PM
And yet you still don't understand the difference between discussing a word and using it as a slur. I think we ALL know who the belligerent one is.

Mr. Dibs, sorry for being "inciteful". I need to watch how I phrase things and believe me am trying. I was thinking that the way one goes back and forth with Mr. What and such, first that there is a real liking between the two people. Then it seems to go the other way, and they are fighting. I think Mr. Dibs really cares about the What, then, well, now I don't know about what is going on (small w there, not the W). Not that it is any of my business, but this is a public OT. I am wondering if the two people need referees, audience, or perhaps a mediation so they can be friends again.
Big (cracked) light bulbs going on here, but I am thinking this difference is not about N word, but something deeper and more significant.
Let's get to "L" word and "Love one an other" (is that some song?). Less of the "L" as in "lunatic" and such words would possibly help.

the mixed kid question
my husband is black. I am white - so when we have kids I wonder what box the kid will have to check if prompted to ask what race they are....

Gem- every biracial child I know defines themselves or identifies themselves as African American. It's no insult to the White parent but i think it is a function of how society tries to pigeonhole the kids. I hoped our kids would have found strength and pride from both parents, and be strong enough to define themselves as they saw fit.

You definitely have a problem - a tragic inability to understand why your previous statements were so incredibly ignorant. Furthermore, I'm pretty sure the "story" behind your lack of insight with regards to your ignorance isn't at all interesting, but unfortunately, fairly routine.
Posted by: East New York at June 29, 2009 4:23 PM
BklynSoFar...I would repost my original post but if I did I'm sure What would have a real shifit again. Like I said, I apologized to him that he saw the word in print and it offended him. He was a belligerent jackass all day long about it so he didn't get an apology initially.
The word was used because someone else called someone who is gay the "F word" I merely discussed that word in the context of the "n word" but had spelled out both of them. It was a discussion of the two words, nothing more, nothing less.
He won't drop it because he thinks everything here is a "covert race/class war" It's just a grand form of paranoia on his part.

Posted by: Joe from Brooklyn at June 29, 2009 4:52 PM
So, I just wanted to find out if I'm the only ninny who didnt' think about this...
Last night I was watching the HGTV Dream Home giveaway and got to wondering how many folks who win live in the house vs. sell it for the $$$. I then came across a thread on some blog about how that sweepstakes has ruined people because they are getting hit with huge tax bills for the full value of the prize (the house, all the furnishings, the land, the cash, and the car they receive as part of the package). I then read an article about the winners of the Dream Home built in Tyler, TX several years ago. They decided to move there and live in the 6000 sqft home but first had to take out a $672,000 loan to pay the taxes on the damned prize. At the time the article was published, the winners were trying to sell it and hoping to come out with at least 250K to pocket after all is said and done. I am never entering that contest again! It sounds like a nightmare. And on top of that, last year's home built in Hilton Head SC was in a desolate area that had no other homes in it. By the time the winner was announced, only 2 or 3 other homes were just begining to be built nearby.

HGTV should just agree to pay additional taxes etc
I have to say HGTV annoys me altough I prob watch it 2-3 a week for various home buying/selling/design shows
My favorite is when a buyer is checking out houses and they are concerned about an old rug or the paint color as if that will be the deal breaker for them not to buy the house - it just makes me giggle. Imagine how they would fare looking at these old buildings here in BK?

Gem...I wonder the same things about those home buyers. They've got a new show with some guy named Mike Aubrey, an "Real Estate Interventionist". It's sad but funny at the same time. THis guy's job is to explain to home sellers, by showing them active and recently sold comps, that their home is overpriced and/or not very nice and therefore not worth the money they are trying to sell for. When I saw that show, I immediately thought of the What. That should totally be his show. By the time he got done with the foolish home owners, they'd be running to reduce their prices. The few episodes I've seen with the Mike Aubrey guy, the owners tend to fight him and swear that they know more than he does and ignore his advice. On 2 shows the couples refused to budge on their price and wound up having to rent out the home and still have to cough up a couple hundred per month to meet the mortgate payment. Just plain sad.

My fav though was the one where he invited all the realtors to bring their dogs and he had out all those doggie treats and gift bags. The funniest part was that the food for the humans was in a big dog bowl labeled "People Kibble". I almost fell off the couch laughing.

I'm so tempted to post the lyrics to the Notorious Big song. But I think people would just have a heart attack here! So I won't!

Heya Cobble! How goes it? What song are you thinking of?

Gotta agree with ENY on the "what should a bi-racial kid" should look like. I don't think Sam was being malicious in any way but its just such a stretch to say that there is anyway a biracial kid "should" look. As Gemini said, every single human being of any racial background is made up a completely unique collection of genetic material.

Snappy, you're such a tease! You turn up when I've been away, and just as I sit down you leave!
Is it me?! ; )

The Human Stain with Anthony Hopkins is a great movie about a black classics professor (played by Hopkins) who passes as white and is (What will like this part) accused of racism by a student.

Snappy - Yours at 4:37 was wonderful!!

You know you were born in Brooklyn when:
1)You say "hide and GO seek" instead of "hide and seek."
2)You ask the store attendant in Ohio why they're not stapling your bag closed.
3)You refer to the intersection of Nostrand and Flatbush as "the Junction."
4)You took a car service before ever taking a yellow cab.
5)You've played stoop ball at least once and your first playground was an alleyway.
6)You know (or know of) the "killer" move in handball that makes the ball drop down the wall after hitting it.
7)You remember when you were glad you didn't live in neighborhoods that you are now priced out of.
Posted by: Joe from Brooklyn at June 29, 2009 5:54 PM
8)You remember the ice cream shop Jaahn's (could be Queens too)
9)You don't like to go into Manhattan unless you have to pick up a check. And you NEVER want to go to Jersey!
10)You think complimentary pickles in the diner is as expected as complimentary ice cream in Chinese.

Dibs, wow, this is too much for my brain to figure out, at least I am getting tired. Because of my fatigue, it gets harder for me to try to say things in non-inciting ways.
I noticed your apology to the What last week. Let me try to explain something that happened to me recently: A friend told me I needed to apologize for something I said. I did and asked for forgiveness. She said okay. I felt greatly relieved, until then she made the forgiveness conditional on something else, and then said 4 other things about me she didn't like. So that took back the whole apology acceptance and made it worse (to me). Because of my own experience, I thought I recognized something like that in your apology to the What.
The apology has to be complete. I am not saying one is ready to apologize, nor make a judgment about an apology being warrented. (Gheesh, I am getting in the middle of things too much.)
I still think incitements are made to the What, when understanding and listening are needed. And incitefully speaking as gently as I can, Dibs, I sense anger from you, too. The What has outright stated he has some problems with anger so that is in the open.
So I am saying let us address the What on what he is saying without name calling. I can tell the What is doing less name-calling, himself.
And about n's and f's, perhaps those could be dropped, but the feelings underneath are still there. The What is upset and I wish we'd address that and stop name-calling so we can all get back to whatever we are getting back to. The post I received from you even has name-calling of the What.
I have been called names by both of you before, and perhaps it was deserved.
The What has something to offer and when he leaves the OT two days, the whole open thread is about him and where he is.
And Dibs, the whole class/race warfare thing is way over my head. If we know that as a problem, maybe we can stay away from it.
It is commonly known that the n word incites people. Write one of those and almost everyone on OT is in a dither. Then almost everyone's brain chemicals go into overdrive. I have read that that rush of many brain chemicals can actually lead to addiction and one does it again.
Dibs, nothing to do with you and The What -- but about the brain-chemical thing, just look at how Sam's comment is blown and twisted out of proportion.
Good-bye for today, dear many-talented Dibs. Except for this, I still think this is not so much about the n word as it is a sense of justice and wanting to be recognized. Who does not want love and recognition?
Well, now I am really tired, so read the above with caution.

Actually, ENY is way too polite, as usual.

BklynSoFar,
You sound like a very sweet person but I think you are taking all of the OT banter too much to heart. The conversation does get heated and tiresome sometimes but people get over it quickly in general. Also, I think many (not all) posters can disagree strongly with an particular opinion without it affecting their overall view of the individual with whom they disagree.
Finally, I think that it would get boring if everyone agreed on everything and held their tongue all the time.
You should come to the next Brownstoner poster get-together. I think you would be pleasantly surprised by how well most people get along, although admittedly this is a self-selecting group each time.
Posted by: etson at June 29, 2009 6:25 PM
bklynsofar- I'm not sure how long you've been on brownstoner and I agree that DIBS can sometimes be a wee bit inciteful :-). That said, and having myself (along with many others) born the brunt of the What's rants- usually for no good reason) I am pretty much done with listening to him. Or believing him. In fact, I am a little suspicious of your post ( you sound a little New Agey/ touchy-feely to me) but maybe you are speaking maybe from the heart- and more from lack of experience. DIBS did nothing wrong and the what not only keeps beating a dead horse, he keeps beating the wrong dead horse.
There's a point at which, despite all reasonableness and logic, someone wants to create a false battle and flay everyone else with it. The What is doing exactly that- I don't believe for a moment he's really outraged over dibs' use of the n-word. He just wants everyone to think so, for several reasons:
1.It's his persona
2.He hates dave.
3.He's over invested in his own hype. And once you fall for your own hype, you have problems.
Plenty of us have tried to "talk" to the What, to treat him respectfully, to listen. His idea of listening is for you to accept completely and wholly everything he says.

my innocent comment, an observation really, that Jackson's kids do not look anything like him or his parents, has upset some and made them call me unpleasant names. Remarkable. If you think the kids do bear some resemblance to the Jackson family that's fine, we are all entitled to our opinions.
I could be mistaken, we have not seen much of them without veils and masks. Now, I would assume his family will allow people to see the kids and maybe I will change my mind. But the littlest one is an aryan uber-blond. Anyway, I pity kids who grow up under a literal veil of lies. Someone has to love them, respect them, and tell them the truth.
Posted by: sam at June 29, 2009 6:55 PM
sam- A friend of mine has biracial child who could almost be Nordic except his coloring is not quite pale. Does have lovely blonde curly hair though. Had another friend who also had a biracial child- also blond and with blue eyes. - And I know for a fact these are biological children. Considering we are none of us genetically "pure"- nothing is impossible.
Ultimately I don't it's as important as whether or not these children are loved- and I'm sure they are. I know you mean well and maybe stated things not so well. But I get very uncomfortable when people get discussed the way the AKC discusses bloodlines.
Posted by: bxgrl at June 29, 2009 7:15 PM
Sam, I don't think anyone was really upset with you for questioning whether or not the kids are actually Jackson's. Hell, millions of folks had the same question. I think the problem was in your statement of what biracial kids look like and the seeming conclusion that those children don't fit the physical bill of what biracial kids 'should' look like. There are no 'should's in what a kid looks like. I would love to show you pics of my best friend's little boys. You would never know they had a black mother. I think Bxgirl hit the nail on the head with the analogy of discussing the kids "the way the AKC discusses bloodlines."

Hello, Etson. You are right -- I have just been thinking about the What. He wrote that he won't go to the get-togethers because he knows he has anger issues, that he is a big guy, and doesn't want to get angry and hurt someone. I take this at his word. He is being honest and I appreciate his thoughtfulness (at knowing his limitations about possibly smashing someone). I sense a rage-level that comes from growing up in the Bed-Stuy conditions that the What, has himself described. I believe this isolates the What. I wasn't going to address the What directly, then today decided to. The What is very smart. (Rage such as the What has described and disagreement banter are different.)
As you noticed -- it has taken me a long wordy way around the bend to get into this -- was going to ignore for a long time. Etson, I know my abilities to be adept with a witty, cutting phrase. Those two things together can have a devastating effect. Won't do any good to anyone here or anywhere.
Sheesh -- new-agey? Yuck. I am biting my tongue here, BTW.
Posted by: BklynSoFar at June 29, 2009 7:55 PM
Dibs, don't know if you saw my note to you at 6:06 PM. Was trying to answer you both. Don't know if I can get much on-line time tomorrow.

I agree I agree and I retract any and all comments about biracial children now and forever. We are all bi-racial, and multi-racial. except for MJ's youngest child who is 100% Scandinavian. No, sorry, I mean melanin-challenged.
bxgirl, your post was so elegant, thank you, it took me two minutes to figure out what AKC was, at first I thought you meant something awful, but then it clicked, oh, american kennel club. I know them, I have a Scottie.....
G'night!

I call white people Asshats and that is not racist because I said so. I want the world to apologize to me because I feel slighted when called out on my racism.
PAY ATTENTION TO ME!!!!!!
Last week was a turning point. I finally admitted that my mother hit me with a 2 x 4, which is why I have so many mental problems.
PAY ATTENTION TO ME!!!!!!
If I insult and race-bait all of you but you all "ignore" me, am I really insulting anyone?
PAY ATTENTION TO ME!!!!!!!
Marry me, Dave.

BklynSoFar I just want to say thank you for reaching out to me. I think you're sincere and trying to find out what make "The What" tick. I tell you what just observe the comments here and draw you own conclusion. I not a angel nor I'm trying to be a saint. I speak from my heart about today's issues and not some crack induced BS. I thnk people hate me because 80% of my predictions came true (Crash 08, Welfare Condo's and the economy) and the NY Magazine story!
There are some posters I get along with and I want to apologize to them for changing my "Rules of engagement", Sorry Biff and Cobblehiller I was very upset last week and both became "Collateral Damage"!
Dave you are coming off very disingenuous! I know you're not a dummy and you knew that word would set off a S*** Storm, especially from me! Then you want me to accept your apology, you sound like Krammer fro using the "N Word". Look Dave just leave me alone OK? I'm not bothering you and don't want to engage ether. Ok it's over guys...

Ghettoazz -- none of us likes to be ignored. Do you like it when you make witty comments and people write back to you, affirming your brilliance? Do you want to be ignored? Each one of us gets something from writing here, including ghettoazz.
I am tired of the jests about the What. It took me a long time of reading to come to some kind of thing about this. Even had to check a couple of books. Maybe I'll get insulted again and will deal with it later. We all need love and attention, including ghettoazz. That is the bottom line of just about everything.
Each one of us here gets something from it, when we write something and boom! someone answers. This blog contains some type of social interaction that most people need. I am seeing that this is some type of family.
BTW, your choice of a log-in name is superb. I have an idea who you are but will hold it for now, as I am often wrong.
Do you want me to get all "cracko" and say I think ghettoazz is in love with the What, and is jealous of Dave?
These satirical expressions could go on and on to blood- dripping daggers. Isn't it time to change course a'ready?
Posted by: BklynSoFar at June 29, 2009 11:26 PM
No, What, I don't consider what "The What" might think about anything before I post it. Is that a requirement here???
bxgrl has it right: "His idea of listening is for you to accept completely and wholly everything he says."
Never any room for discussion. Everyone just needs to agree with every point he makes, no matter how ludicrous, inane or illogical. Like a crazy man.
Posted by: daveinbedstuy at June 30, 2009 8:38 AM
"none of us likes to be ignored."
But some deserve to be whether they like it or not.
The What is worst kind of internet forum troll -- the kind who has become emotionally dependent on getting responses and keeps upping the ante on his stupidity to ensure he keeps getting attention.
Ignore buttons were INVENTED for posters like that.
