216-Pacific-Street-Fire-0609.jpg
This just in from a reader...Fire broke out a little while ago at 216 Pacific Street (between Court and Boerum), the former garage currently being converted into a mixed-use building with three apartments. According to the tipster, the Fire Department has it under control.

Fire Dept. response time was pretty good (though it likely would have been better if that old building next to it was still a firehouse!).

At any rate, the construction guys spent about ten minutes or so trying to put the thing out themselves and as far as I could tell I was the first to call 911. It also looked liked the fire was mostly contained to the scaffolding and the area immediately around it.

Of course, I walked away when it looked like it was under control so the whole thing could be gone by now.
