Development Watch: 324 Grand Avenue

The heinous bricks that we spotted back in April at 324 Grand Avenue in Clinton Hill have spread like the plague as the four-story building has risen. At the end of the day, there will be 29 units. Presumably they will be rentals like the building from the same developer across the street.

Biggest bummer about this is the way this building will kill the vibe in the awesome outdoor garden at Choice Greene.

why is this UGLY brick permitted for use anywhere? why is it even made? it is so gross and so out of context in the neighborhood!

I've been trying to understand this myself. Is this brick cheaper? Do developers like the way it looks? Do potential buyers like the way it looks? At least one of those must be true. I would LOVE to hear from someone with actual knowledge about this.
