A Few Price Cuts at 80 Met

The folks behind Williamsburg's 80 Metropolitan have resisted across-the-board price cuts, but they continue to chip away at some of the lower-floor apartments. Back in March, when 42 units were in contract (according to StreetEasy), we reported that six units on the second floor were reduced; now, with 44 in contract, three listings have gotten trimmed: #2P was cut from $825,000 to $735,000, #2G from $735,000 to $689,000, and #3KI from $1,329,000 to $1,224,000.

How can 2G be "almost 1,000 square feet"? it's at best 775 square feet. It's really annoying when ads lie so blatantly. It makes one wonder what other lies are hiding under the surface, not so easily discovered.

Ack! I knew I shouldn't have looked. 3KI is 1,270 square feet gross. Grrrr. Dishonesty drives me batty, especially when it is so contemptuous. They might as well start their pitch with: "we know you're out there, stupid, math-challenged buyer, so here's a shiny object."

Do you think the owners can actually wear shoes in this building (if they want to, when they have guests/party, left but then had to come back really quick to grab the tickets so didn't have time to take the dress shoes/high heels off)
or
Once a board is setup and the numerous noise and impact noise complaints from mens' dress shoes and females' high heels and little kids learning to walk or what not, that they'll have to vote and implement a 70% or 80% carpeting rule?
It's BS to force owners to cover 70-80% of their hardwood floors because the developer and construction crew were such asshats and the city doesn't have a strong enough code for this.
But still, these units need to be around $500-$600 psf, not current $750ish psf. Also, the discount for the cancer clusters and brownsfields in the area.

I've checked out this development. Supposedly, they are soundproof. This is what the sales guy told me. Built by Steiner Studios and they know about sound because they design movie sets. The location is nice and the finishes as well but the prices are much too high and the maintenance costs don't make sense either.

i don't think that williamsburg prime (northside/west of BQE) is at $500-$600 psf cookiecutter. think that's wishful thinking.
