StreetLevel: Bar Great Harry Spinoff Opening on 4th Ave

The owners of Smith Street's Bar Great Harry—a beer snob's paradise—are getting ready to open a new joint near the corner of 4th Avenue and Carroll. The bar will share a wall with the former lesbian bar Cattyshack (which closed down early this year and in its present incarnation seems to be rarely open) but does not have anything to do with its neighboring establishment. The BGH biz will have an outdoor space that its owners say will lend it a beer garden vibe, and the emphasis will be on craft beer, with 24 draft lines and a couple of casks. It should be open by late August or early September. GMAP

That's pretty cool! With that apt building having no windows on one side I thought maybe another 4th ave condo/rental was going to go up. Happy to hear it'll turn into BGH!

5th avenue scares me more than 4th avenue.
4th > 3rd > 6th > 5th > 7th
is there a 2nd and 1st?!

oh please, the bar will be soon razed, and another building will butt up against that fugly building put up by Gregory Rigas, the owner. He already owns the red brick buildings on President & 4th, so I'm sure he has his eye on the the site of the bar...
Hopefully he will get an architect with some taste because his buildings are freakkkin ugly.
