Williamsburg's Swimming Hole
"A nice slime green lake is forming and I imagine will get pushed down the sewer sooner or later," wrote a Curbed tipster yesterday. The cesspool in question? Why, the Karl Fischer-designed development at 95 Bedford Avenue. The former site of the NJZ Color and Reichhold Chemical, the lot has been reputed to have some, ahem, environmental issues. GMAP

Toxic Brooklyn
http://www.vbs.tv/video.php?id=742311878
Toxic Brooklyn is the story of people coping with some fine Industrial Era leftovers--a tale filled with villains, suspicious maestros and buckets and buckets of toxic goop. Have fun!
That area is the most toxic site in America. Enjoy your "investment", LMMFAO!

People who grow vegetables in this neighborhood do it in pots and raised beds.
They should just reclaim this site and N 12th and extend the park.

They should re-pave over it and leave it as a parking lot for another 20 years and see if the envioronmental issues abate. That's the old cadmium factory, right?
And you'd think, bkkk... but a surprising number of people do have actual gardens. Mmmm, lead.

who knows if the developer has the money to really handle this plot and get anything built. too bad, because it would be an excellent location with good views of either the park or the city if you were on a high floor. it's also right on bedford, so shopping and transportation are right there. the park is really looking good right now too.

Return of the What, I really doubt that you have such a concrete idea of what's actually on the site. It's so easy for people to just spit out the word "toxic" and expect others to take them at their word. I don't think anyone posting here knows a damn thing about the soil there, whether good or bad.
