Prepping for the Public Plaza on Fulton Mall

With both The Post and The Eagle reporting this week that work crews had begun preparations to expand the existing public plaza outside the Dime Savings Bank, we swung by this morning hoping to find some exciting photo fodder. No such luck. Whatever the prep work is, it's pretty low impact. And given that the bulk of the work on this first phase involves co-opting the one block stretch of Dekalb between Bond Street and Albee Square West, there may not ever be any dramatic demolition porn to come out of this one. More likely, the money shots will come from the streetscape enhancements like benches, lamp posts and plantings.
