hey guys good morning. serious question today...

my 17 year old sister and her mentor (she is 37) want to visit brooklyn and hang out with me (as some of you already know we met for the first time a few weeks ago). anyway, im trying to think of fun things to do with her. i got a huge laundry list of things that would be fun from the mentor but i dont know if those are even slightly feasible. (seriously one of them was snowboarding) hahaha.

she's 17, identifies as a goth (i cant believe there are still goths under the age of 40 but whatever), and she has severe learning disabilities (tho i dont think that should matter when it comes to visiting places?) she's not really interested in museums, but i told her id look up some possible art openings or gallery openings with dark themed shows that might interest her. does anyone have any other suggestions? i suggested we stop at pearl paint pick up a couple of sketch pads and draw at prospect park, the mentor was totally into that idea but my sister didnt really respond to that.

any other ideas?

it's funny asking for advice what a teenage girl would want to do when half the time im a teenage girl myself, but she's all goth and stuff and that's not the kinda inner teenage girl i am (if that makes ANY sense).? she made a huge collage of hot guys and they all had long hair and wore make-up! lol. we totally have the opposite taste in men that's fer sure, but i really havent the slightest idea how to approach this. i am going to tutor her to take the SAT's tho! she will be the second person in my family (other than me) who actually goes to college if we can get this done :)

sorry for the long post, it's easier to ask at anonymous places like than friends sometimes.my friends just insist we go on a reality tv show together or tyra or oprah. no way. i actually want to be a good influence in her life.

Cobble asked me to start today with something about the Middle East that people don’t know.

Joke of the Day

“There are so many misconceptions about what Arab women look like, how they dress, what they wear. There are only two images of Arab woman in the media. They either picture them in a full burka or a belly dancing outfit. I have news for you; underneath that burka IS a belly dancing outfit. The Middle East IS just ooooone biiiiig strip club waiting to happen.”

Posted by: bayridgegirl at March 5, 2009 9:25 AM

^^^ And that’s my contribution for today. It should be read with sarcasm. Let the stereotypes fly. Have fun all. I’m outta here.

Posted by: bayridgegirl at March 5, 2009 9:25 AM

Biff, those were particularly revolting this early in the morning. Almost as bad as a visit from randolph.

I love food that's bad for you, sweetbreads come to mind, but I'd never touch any of that crap!!!!

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at March 5, 2009 9:27 AM

Oh, and to link the two topics above: A Mediterranean diet is very healthy.
Eat up!

Sorry Rob, I'd try to help you but my brain is in it's own dark place right now.
Have fun though.

Posted by: bayridgegirl at March 5, 2009 9:28 AM

Biff: My tummy hurts just looking at that stuff!

Rob: My good friend teaches learning disabled teens and takes them out around the city often. Let me ask her where she takes them and I'll get back to you.

BRG: Hey girl! Where ya been? :)

DIBS, is there any food Americans won't wrap in bacon? By the way, I posted the link with the discussion of various British foods in mind from the other day. The foods in the website I posted make a Chip Butty look healthy by comparison!

Posted by: Biff Champion at March 5, 2009 9:37 AM

The Chip Butty now looks like a pile of twice-washed romaine in comparison to the bacon-wrapped, chocolate fried mess on that site!

Posted by: InsertSnappyNameHere at March 5, 2009 9:41 AM

i'll hang out with your sister. seems we have alot in common.

Posted by: randolph at March 5, 2009 9:42 AM

Thanks wasder - much appreciated!

Biff, I'm nauseous after looking at that, and I blame you!

Speaking of bacon, have any of you ever seen this? http://bacolicio.us add it to the front of any url...

Posted by: cobblehiller at March 5, 2009 9:44 AM

A pork roast wrapped in bacon is particularly good.

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at March 5, 2009 9:46 AM

Oh, Rob, why not try taking her to that Atlantic Ave tunnel thing featured here on BStoner a while back. It's educational, dark and underground - perfect!

Cobble, that's hysterical!

Posted by: InsertSnappyNameHere at March 5, 2009 9:47 AM

Good one, huh Snappy! My brother sent me that!

They say bacon makes everything better! : )

Posted by: cobblehiller at March 5, 2009 9:50 AM

Rob,
If you don't know her all that well why not just hang out during the day (grab a table at a bar kinda thing) and be mellow. Is she staying the night? Maybe a show at a club that leans the goth way?

I've found that sometimes the most enjoyable times I've had with out of town guests is when there isn't much of a plan and we just sort of walk the city a bit and shoot the shite kinda thing....

Just an idea.

Posted by: christopher at March 5, 2009 9:51 AM

Cobblehiller, that is hilarious.

Posted by: Biff Champion at March 5, 2009 9:52 AM

Rob, I think christopher has a good point. If she's not into museums or the touristy things, hang out with her in the East Village/Alphabet City, West Village, etc. She might like those areas.

Posted by: Biff Champion at March 5, 2009 9:54 AM

Posted by: the chicken at March 5, 2009 9:54 AM

chicken - You're twisted - I love it!

Posted by: cobblehiller at March 5, 2009 9:56 AM

It would be awesome if, for one day, all visitors to that vegan site would be hit by the image of that slice of bacon on the screen!! I can imagine the horrified gasps :)

Posted by: InsertSnappyNameHere at March 5, 2009 9:59 AM

The hordes of vegans would hunt us down...but a few would likely 'crack' and go get a BLT!

Posted by: cobblehiller at March 5, 2009 10:05 AM

I'd take her down to Coney Island- its goth in its own sunlight-filled, street performancy, ramshackley renaissancey rundown kinda of way. But seriously- even in winter its a very cool place and if she's into goth, she'll probably see her soul mate walking around down there. I love the place. My dad used to take me down there in the winter and we'd walk on the beach.

Some stuff is open- including the very ungoth Aquarium, but there's nothing like have the killer whale (or was it porpoise?)jump up and kiss your hand. And the Stillwell Ave. station is incredible. Robert Wilson designed the art for the station. There is also the museum and I think the side show is still open. check it out on coneyisland.com.

Posted by: bxgrl at March 5, 2009 10:05 AM

Awww...poor bacon being forced to hang out with those vegans!

Posted by: TownhouseLady at March 5, 2009 10:10 AM

It is a very hunky piece of bacon, though, isn't it? I mean, a good piece of bacon can be very sexy :-)

Oops, sorry - 17, I see. Hmm. I'll think on it a bit.

Posted by: cobblehiller at March 5, 2009 10:26 AM

My personal favorite

Turbaconducken (Turducken Wrapped in Bacon)

That’s right — a chicken stuffed in duck stuffed in a turkey, all wrapped in bacon. Otherwise known as a bacon-wrapped turducken.

Biff- If I were to refer to someone as a pig it would be based solely on behavior. I try not to be so rude about placing judgments on peoples physicality.

Posted by: TownhouseLady at March 5, 2009 10:44 AM

rob- forget coney island. Just stick her in front of a computer and go to http://bacontoday.com/

That turducken looks like an alien baby on a plate. the guy who wrote the article as written something like 65 articles for the website. I laughed so hard my eyes watered.

Posted by: bxgrl at March 5, 2009 10:47 AM

THL, please read my post more closely. I separated "pig" and "Americans" by asking to which you were referring and didn't suggest you ever referred to someone as a pig.

Posted by: Biff Champion at March 5, 2009 10:47 AM

THL, but you might have Overeating Pigs Anonymous on your case for referring to their members as "huge"! :-)

RIP Gowanuslounge dude - I didn't know you but I liked your blog.

Posted by: the chicken at March 5, 2009 10:49 AM

You'll love the planetarium, and the Museum, too. So will your sister. I'm sure you'll find that after a just a little time together walking around the city, she'll be much more interested and willing to try seeing things she'd normally reject. Start at AMNH, and then try the Cloisters: http://www.metmuseum.org/Works_Of_Art/the_cloisters

Things to do with goth girl;

-visit the Cathedral of St. John the Divine- morningside heights, gargoyles, naves, dark recesses with a religious theme. It's the largest cathedral in the world and isn't even finished yet.

-NYPD museum- mugshots, criminal lore and an old New York feel.

-Check out a concert in Williamsburg, several venues there, goth bands included.

-visit Egyptian exhibit at Brooklyn Museum, one of the best in the world and alot less crowded than the Met.

-top of the Empire state building on a clear night, go during the week and late to avoid large crowds.

-Isamu Noguchi museum in Long Island City and PS1 gallery nearby, both are edgy and unusual. Very cool.

-Visit New York's newest Chinatown, and most authentic- downtown flushing- last stop on the 7 train.

-Visit the Frick museum, turn of the 19th century mansion, dark and beautiful.

-Visit the Night Creature building at the Bronx Zoo, all the night critters and bats you can shake a stick at and a world class zoo to boot.

-Take her to see The Phantom of the Opera, gothic, showy and a total experience even after 20 years.

-Take her to Houdini's grave site, it's at the cemetery on straddling the brooklyn/queens border in Ridgewood. Near the Ridgewood reservoir, off of Cypress Hills Avenue

It's hilarious that there is a website devoted entirely to bacon though, and it's updated quite often. Up to the minute with Breaking Bacon News!!!

DAVE- I've spent the past 2 months getting everyone approved and doing the CEMAs, Subordinations, Condo approvals, etc... They are just all about done and now rates are heading lower and the Home Affordable Program is here. Looking at 10-15 closings in the next 2 weeks. I'm just grateful that my clients have been patient. CEMAs are taking 4 weeks and subordinations (ahem Chase) are taking 6 weeks. I advised my cleints to float while approving them. This way they wouldn't have had to pay for rate extensions because very few in NYC are closing in 30 days. The big lenders are at crazy turntimes 60-90 days.

I think we are at the beginning of the new refinance boom. Want to talk later today?

Greenwood Cemetery might be cool, but not outside the comfort zone, as you mentioned.

A simple and fun thing might just be to take her for a walk on 7th Ave in Park Slope and make fun of the yuppies/stroller brigade.

No, it is not cool to get your jollies by poking fun at people, however; it is the sort of thing that can lower a teenager's guard

Posted by: Troy McClure at March 5, 2009 11:52 AM

You know something? I hate it when I'm right (Not Really).

Well Citibank has gone Tango Uniform and the collapse of the Mutant Asset Bubble keeps rolling along!

"March 5 (Bloomberg) -- Citigroup Inc. dropped below $1 in New York trading for the first time, the latest sign that stock investors are losing confidence in a company that was once the world’s biggest bank by market value."

Really??????!!! Dave said "It's a great time to buy (Real Estate, Stocks, Bonds and Ass-Cream).

"Citigroup was created by the 1998 combination of Citicorp and Travelers Group Inc., which with a value of $85 billion was the largest merger in history at the time. The transaction helped persuade the U.S. government to repeal a Great Depression-era law, the Glass-Steagall Act, that prohibited banks that took consumer deposits from engaging in investment-banking activities."

Wow 85 Billion turned to dust and the Asshead believe the prices in Brownstone Brooklyn will hold up, LMMFAO!

What, your 12:12 post made my day, in a positive way. I'm not kidding, I'm being sincere.
You have no idea, and I can not begin to explain, but that brighten my day.
Thank you, What.

But if you really want to retaliate...I've got the K-Y ready for YOU!
But let's do it after 5:00, as I'm very busy right now and can only pop in every so often.

Posted by: bayridgegirl at March 5, 2009 12:22 PM

What, thanks for asking, but I think anyone on this blog, including me, is open to attack, especially if referencing you before you reference him/her. My only beef with you was I thought you went after Montrose when she was recounting a story about musicians and not appearing to be trying to get your goat whatsoever but to engage you and others in a discussion on old-time radio. And I thought your insults to her were unduly harsh and personal, given she is usually so even keeled and reasonable (again, unlike me and others).

I mentioned DIBS doesn't need me to defend him, just as BRG and others are more than capable of handling themselves. Keep the missles flying if you feel it's necessary. You always have cobblehiller and I to give you are opinion if it gets out of hand.

Be well.

Adam Dahill, I do need a vacation. We are going to Florida this weekend to visit my bf's mom (she is visiting too). I am really looking forward to ditching the heavy coat.

Question for you: The contract we are about to sign says we have only 30 days to find a mortgage commitment letter from a bank. Isn't that unrealistic, given how busy the banks are these days?

If we get rejected, we get our money back. But if the bank doesn't respond in 30 days, we lose our deposit. Isn't that ridiculous?

It seems like maybe 45 or 60 days would be more workable. But not for the seller.

Rob,
I didn't know about your family history. If I had I wouldn't have suggested a bar.

As for Citibank, an acquaintance who works there told me the vending machines charge more for a soda and some candy then the stock is worth.

And apparently they keep raising the soda prices. So if the stock hits $2 today it's probably due to added vending revenue driven by $2 cans of Coke and bags of Doritos...

I like him, but prefer Rachel Maddow at this point. They cover the same material and she is more even toned.

That said, I often enjoy it when he "cranks up the crazy and breaks off the knob."

Posted by: SnarkSlope at March 5, 2009 12:49 PM

THL...someone just sent this to me>>>>

The following was found posted very low on a refrigerator door.

Dear Dogs and Cats: The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Racing me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort, however. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It i s not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other, stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out on the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.

For the last time, there is no secret exit from the bathroom! If, by some miracle, I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge in an attempt to open the door. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years - canine/feline attendance is not required.

The proper order for kissing is: Kiss me first, then go smell the other dog or cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough.

Finally, in fairness, dear pets, I have posted the following message on the front door:

TO ALL NON-PET OWNERS WHO VISIT AND LIKE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR PETS:

(1) They live here. You don't.

(2) If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. That's why they call it 'fur'-niture.

(3) I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.

(4) To you, they are animals. To me, they are adopted sons/daughters who are short, hairy, walk on all fours and don't speak clearly.

Remember, dogs and cats are better than kids because they:

(1) eat less,

(2) don't ask for money all the time,

(3) are easier to train,

(4) normally come when called,

(5) never ask to drive the car,

(6) don't hang out with drug-using people;

(7) don't smoke or drink,

(8) don't want to wear your clothes,

(9) don't have to buy the latest fashions,

(10) don't need a gazillion dollars for college and

(11) if they get pregnant, you can sell their children ...

How can anyone watch Keith Olberman? He is insane in an almost scary way. Gives me the creeps. Same with Lou Dobbs, the man is convinced that all the world's problems are the fault of poor Mexican laborers. He is like an obsessed SS officer going after Mexicans.
And then there is Bill O'Reilly who, while not as dramatically nuts as Olberman, is a world-class obnoxious blowhard who also thinks Mexicans and Lations in general should be rounded up and put in camps.
The less time watching these and other creeps on TV the better your life.

One difference Dibs, Keith can be entertaining. Not so much with the What.

Posted by: InsertSnappyNameHere at March 5, 2009 12:58 PM

I like Olberman, not as a steady diet, but I like him.

Rachel is better, and way cuter [nod to Snappy]. They both get crazy, but I like it!

I need to see people publicly get as mad about the crazy crap that is going on as I feel. It's hard for me to sit and watch people calmly talking [blah de blah de blah] about it all the time. I need to see someone 'go off the reservation' with it, 'crank up the crazy and break off the knob', show a little anger, confusion and disgust. Same reasons I like Jon Stewart. And Lewis Black. It's f*cked up and scary. And acting like it's 'all nailed down' all the time is just ridiculous.

Then I can calm down and go listen to Latchmi Singh and read the NYT, The Economist or whatever.

Mr. B;

This is a serious request.

Would you please institute a policy of "one person/one login"? I am really getting weary of these folks who think they are being amusing or clever by posting under multiple id's. It's not. It's annoying.

In other news....

I am stressed out today because I have to take my wife to the doctor's tomorrow to determine if she needs hip joint replacement surgery. If she does, it will be the third time she has had such surgery. My wife has Lupus, and she has to take alot of steroids, which wrecks your joint linings. She's had to have her right hip joint replaced twice, and it looks like her left hip may be going. We shall see.

Fortunately my wife is no longer treated with steroids, but it has been a long slog. As fate would have it, she discovered she has Lupus on our honeymoon, almost 30 years go. A rash broke out on her face shortly before our wedding, and we just thought it was nerves. During our honeymoon it got worse and she had to go to the doctor, and discovered she has Lupus.

I think I will have to work until I'm 75 to pay for the high medical bills I have to deal with.

Talk to you next week.

Posted by: InsertSnappyNameHere at March 5, 2009 1:08 PM

Keith Olberman is a one trick pony. Whatever is on the Right is what's wrong.
At least Bill O'Reilly maintains some measure of objectivity. He often has not one but two persons on his show who actively disagree with him.
Keith Olberman is too insecure to endure a reasoned response to his rants. He simply won't allow opposing views on his show. Nice little fascist that he is.
That says it all.

Posted by: bayridgegirl at March 5, 2009 2:40 PM

Wow, I missed a lot. Benson, I'm sorry to hear about your wife.

For my TV segment I want to do a cooking segment BUT, I want to do it from a different Brooklyn McMansion each week (the house in the listing below will be the first one). So while everything is in the oven I'll give you the house tour. Then we can all sit down at that giant white laminate dining room table and break bread.

I don't of any of you are paying attention on the markets right now. The whole financial world is collapsing right in front of us. Mopar I will say this one more time. You are making a grave mistake right now and should feel lucky that that deal is falling apart. You should terminate the deal but I think you are going forward. Adam Dahill would not tell you this because he want's to make a buck off of you and to serve his own interests.

America gave China all of it's wealth and called it "Globalization". This is the greatest transfer of wealth in the history of mankind.

I think we do not make it to summer before a Global meltdown and guess what? The Bond market is going to have an aneurysm and we will in the Greater Depression...

cobblehiller -i'd like to either do "cool new music" from the borough (as I work for a record company that pretty much only signs bands from Brooklyn nowadays)

or something along the food lines (as that's my true passion in life)

Dibs - I've been swarmed!

Posted by: gemini10 at March 5, 2009 2:50 PM

THL, you've out done yourself - it's beau-ti-ful!

I think we might need to tap wasder for the back drops and imagery.

Posted by: cobblehiller at March 5, 2009 2:53 PM

I've got it! We need a house band! gemini - get on it...you're in charge!

[Re: food: you may need to check with THL - seems she on the food thing...]

Posted by: cobblehiller at March 5, 2009 2:57 PM

"What, if you're still reading, I'm granting you my full permission for an all out assault on those who have instigated with you today!"

Biff I don't have to anymore. The forces of reality will take care of that. I hope you are paying attention to the S&P 500 right now! That's our whole financial world, going Tango Uniform! I think we have breached the longest Bear Market on the S&P 500 except the Great Depression and I'm very worried right now about outright collapse of our financial system. Citibank is trading under a buck and GE is on the way there. BAC is toast and there is no support right now. Strange days ahead...

The What (I'm not joking now...)

Someday this war is gonna end...

ok - Got it on the band
but do we want sorta indie rock vibe, soul, reggae
all of the above?

Posted by: gemini10 at March 5, 2009 2:59 PM

What - what does "Tango uniform" mean
and I have to agree -the market is scary right now
when will people start to RALLY?

Posted by: gemini10 at March 5, 2009 3:00 PM

At the risk of having my head handed to me again, I will still pipe up and say that I agree with What on China. It's exactly what we did.

Brg- you got bit during sex? :-)

Posted by: East New York at March 5, 2009 3:06 PM

Posted by: TownhouseLady at March 5, 2009 3:39 PM

Well 4000 may just be the next resistance level. I would not be surprised by a 80 percent drop of the dow from the top... That would be around high 2000's or low 3000's..I am ready to buy some stocks. Fall fast baby.... Sorry .. THE WHAT I HOPE YOU ARE RIGHT, I WANT THAT BROWNSTONE FOR 400KK . The original price I wanted to pay.. Things are going sour fast. If it doesn't turn tomorrow than things will just get worse...

Posted by: HOBOKENROCKS at March 5, 2009 3:40 PM

Sorry, those are chess pieces.

Posted by: boofer at March 5, 2009 3:44 PM

"I am ready to buy some stocks. Fall fast baby.... "

You don't want that to happen...

"THE WHAT I HOPE YOU ARE RIGHT, I WANT THAT BROWNSTONE FOR 400KK ."

I don't you want that ether..

"Well 4000 may just be the next resistance level."

THERE IS NO F****** RESISTANCE LEVEL!!!!!!! It's all dead from here Dumbass!!!!!!!

THE WHAT Gerald Celente said a major shock would happen in March I guess he was right again.. Roubini said a 20 percent drop from the lows, looks pretty accurate as well. I do feel bad for people. And no person on this world has done everything correctly. I didn't sell my home and it has probably gone down a good 15 percent... Well at least I still have my renters paying me....

Posted by: HOBOKENROCKS at March 5, 2009 3:45 PM

"What's all this talk about What playing bocce?"

Actually, I think he threatened to hit Dave with a bocce ball.

Posted by: East New York at March 5, 2009 3:48 PM

I know, that white dining set was pretty gross. Sorry Dave.

Posted by: TownhouseLady at March 5, 2009 3:49 PM

Dude your going crazy.. There is always a resistance level. The shorts will get squeezed at one point... Things don't go down in a straight line.. Too easy to make money that way. Trust me I am right. As for Dumbass, I think you should no by now I am one of the few have called this .. And I have made money from this fall. As for you THE WHAT, I guess you will have to keep posting on this wall since you seem pissed at the situation though you have thought this was going to happen. Why all the foul language? Maybe you should put your money where your mouth is.... Dave when is that short squeeze coming.... My charts only date back for a certain amount of time.

Posted by: HOBOKENROCKS at March 5, 2009 3:50 PM

oh...he will probably be there though. lurking in the corner trying to look inconspicuous.

Posted by: boofer at March 5, 2009 3:51 PM

Daveinbedstuy you here? What are you looking at? CHina looks nice...

Posted by: HOBOKENROCKS at March 5, 2009 3:54 PM

Bought C Calls today Jun 5.00 for 5 cents!!!...that was P.A., not for firm.

Still buying CAF...better proxy than FXI

Covered our Yen short yesterday

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at March 5, 2009 4:02 PM

Bought TSM last friday on the Intel announcement....still a buy.

We own PFE (at higher prices) and were buying more here today. Goldman put a buy on it...dividend will grow from here...stable earnings through 2015 and cheapest big pharma out there.

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at March 5, 2009 4:07 PM

THOSE C calls looks like a play. I am betting that tomorrow is short squeeze day and am putting my money where my mouth is and I am buying alot calls.. BGU, C, and some others.. Only calls though,, if it doesn't materialize than I may just purchase puts. Either way we are going to move alot in the next couple of days depending on if we don't make a low tomorrow...

Been away this afternoon. Benson, will be thinking about you and your wife and wishing good thoughts your way. Makes you wish for a little universal health care right about now huh?

Holy shit on the markets. Not that I personally have anything invested but its scary nonetheless. Sending "reasonable" vibes out into the universe and hoping for a good return.

Posted by: wasder at March 5, 2009 4:55 PM

Ahhh, I see wasder, you just stuck around until the kudos ran dry this morning for that great photo!!!! :)

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at March 5, 2009 4:59 PM

Is the world going to end today?

Posted by: bayridgegirl at March 5, 2009 5:15 PM

Maybe tomorrow.

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at March 5, 2009 5:19 PM

Haha DIBS. I meeting in the city this afternoon and just got back. But yes, the kudos were a nice way to start the day!

"Is the world going to end today?"
"Maybe tomorrow."

Is tomorrow October 16, 2008?

Posted by: bayridgegirl at March 5, 2009 5:25 PM

LOL , NO ITS MARCH 6TH 2009

Posted by: HOBOKENROCKS at March 5, 2009 5:51 PM

Tell me you guys are joking. You're scaring the crap out of me.

Posted by: cobblehiller at March 5, 2009 6:07 PM

No cobble I have written about his on this board. I remember you asking me questions and I have always been pessimistic. If we don't turn tomorrow than I don't know when we will turn.. One thing is for sure, when we do turn there will be a nice upside. But I don't think things will be good for a long time. Unless we develop the first supercomputer, or some other ground breaking invention... I think some of OBama's ideas are good. Especially giving more money to the welfare and food stamp programs. Those for sure will be spent. I think at one point it will look like the things are turning but by the end of 2010 or 2011 I think we better be ready for the big one.. Unless we get it now..lol. Don't worry the sun will come out tomorrow..

Posted by: HOBOKENROCKS at March 5, 2009 6:31 PM

Thanks, What, I appreciate your comments too. Though the market conditions are not the primary thing that concern us. Though we agree if the economy collapses, then it will be. Also rents are going down, no doubt about it, and that is certainly one concern.

Posted by: mopar at March 5, 2009 6:42 PM

Ok...well then I will pray [yes really] for a positive turn tomorrow and join wasder in putting out some 'reasonable vibes' for us all.

Posted by: cobblehiller at March 5, 2009 7:08 PM

Benson, very late to the party, but just want to send prayers and positive thoughts to your wife and yourself.
