Development Watch: 202 Myrtle Halfway There

202-Myrtle-Avenue-0309.jpg
Two months ago, there was just some steel framing as high as the first floor; now they're working on cinderblocking the fifth story of the nine-floor, $26 million residential project being brought to you by John Catsimatidis' Red Apple Group. Better step on the gas—the target completion date at one point was July 2009!

So what I want to know is: Any intel on prospective retail tenant? Might John give us a branch of the mediocre-but-better-than-Associated supermarket, Gristedes?

Why so few windows on the Ashland side?

I hope this doesn't end up being unforgivably ugly, but I'm not holding my breath.

Rehab, I believe it's a Gristede's and a Duane Reade (to replace the one that was demolished).

zinka, if you go back far enough (not one of the links above), the design by Dattner & Associates received praise on this board. I do not know if the design has changed in the ensuing financial maelstrom.

Lets hope its Gristedes - the only supermarket in New York that carries Nabisco Famous Chocolate Wafers!

tough to say for certain but still looks possible that they're sticking to the plans for now from these renders:

regardless, looks like el cheapo construction.
