Checking In On The Dewitt

Selling an architecturally undistinguished new development in which half the apartments are going to lower-income earners for a fraction of the market-rate price is a challenge, so give it up for the fact that PACC is down to one last unit at the Dewitt Condos at 483 Washington Avenue (between Gates and Fulton) in Clinton Hill. The one unit that's left is a penthouse apartment (#7A) that started out in June 2007 asking $1,265,000, a price we called "absurd" at the time. The list price is down to $895,000. The apartment has 1,385 square feet, four exposures, a terrace and low monthly expenses so maybe they can pull it off, but considering you can find a house on the eastern edge of Clinton Hill for close to this price now, it's still gonna be tough.

I have to say that I think they did a better job than most with this property judging from the outside. I walk by it regularly and it is far nicer than most new construction in the area.

named after joyce dewitt, the actress who portrayed Janet, the 'smart' female roommate of Jack Tripper in "Three's Company."
wonder if the kitchens have swinging doors in homage to the show...

Perhaps that should rename it The Somers?
Or Maybe the DeWitless?

tell me QUICK, without consulting IMBD what was Jack's boss' name at the restaurant? He had a beard and was ornery. he'd always go "TRIPPER!!"

DeNitWit for fun but it looks like it's doing well. 650 moves that 2BR/2BA penthouse and only if it comes with a parking spot.
"IMBD"

brownstones half off-
if only I liked the tile work in the bath and the kitchen. I'd make that offer, and get laughed out of the bldg.

what in the wide world of sports constitutes a "penthouse apartment"?! seems these days if its the top floor unit of a 3-story dump, its still a "penthouse apartment". gag.

I've seen worse for that money, so, not bad. But why is the master bathroom so big?

What's the deal with "The Carter." Also can someone fill us in on the "soup kitchen" next door? I've been eyeing it for a year and dont see an ounce of soup.
