Avalon Myrtle Passes the 3/4 Mark

The rapid pace of development at Avalon Myrtle (sorry, we have a hard time calling it Avalon Fort Greene as the developers would like—if this isn't Downtown Brooklyn, what is?) continues. According to our count, the building (which will have 650 rental units) has reached 32 out of an eventual 42 stories, double where it was just two months ago. That's two stories per week!

John Catsimatidis building is also moving up fast. It is up to the 5th of 8 floors. Pretty simple structure - all concrete block - but it looks like it should be done by summer. Here comes that neighborhood supermarket (finally)!

The famous Dakota apt bldg on CPW isn't in north or south Dakota. So don't worry about calling this Avalon Ft. Greene.

It's going to be great to have all of these new residents in Downtown Brooklyn.
Hopefully they'll keep the rents reasonable and fill it up quickly.

are these related to the avalons in manhattan on the LES!? those buildings are seriously post college dorms for ex fratboys and sorority chicks. why you would want a gigantic building full of those types in brooklyn is mind boggling.

Umm - I'd say that Downtown Brooklyn would technically be on the West Side of Flatbush Ave Ext. - so Avalon Ft. Greene seems reasonably accurate to me

Hey Rob, you mean they are clean-cut young professionals? Is it so bad? You are very intolerant of those different from you, why is that?

The Montauk Club is not in Montauk.

Red flag for workmanship and safety. Still, it'll be a year by the time they put in finishes. By then, rents will have tanked.
