Windy Times at 163 Washington

163-Washington-Avenue-0209.jpgNot surprisingly, the high winds are taking their toll on at least one development project in the borough this morning. Earlier today, construction debris flew off 163 Washington Avenue, shown here in a photo from last month, smashing a truck and causing the cops to shut down the street. Hopefully there won't be any worker accidents today. Remember what happened at 525 Clinton Avenue a year ago. GMAP

How many floors is this beast going to be? I am sure the stench from Kum Kau's kitchen/dumpster will be an attractive sales tool for this out-of-scale development. ugh.

18 stories. They still have 6 floors to go from where that photo is at. This is a fine example of what they call "contextual development".

Luckily the construction debre only hit a truck. It would have been so much more trajic if there was a person down below that would have been struck. They should take precausion during construction to tie some things down.
