Streetlevel: New Pizzeria for Prospect Heights

554-Vanderbilt-Avenue-0209.jpg
We gave Cataldo's a brief mention in the Food & Drink Round-Up at the end of last month, but didn't get a chance to pass by the wood-oven pizza restaurant at 554 Vanderbilt Avenue in Prospect Heights until last weekend. In addition to 'za, the former Nino's crew is serving up a full range of pastas, meats and fish. Anyone tried it yet? Update: Blog OutAboutBrooklyn tried it and liked it! GMAP

> 'za

Sweet Jesus on a pogo stick.

At least you didn't say "Vandy" or "ProHi".

People that say "za" call their friends "bra".

it's actually "brah." seriously, i've seen it written in e-mails.

my family ate there 2 weeks ago for Valentine's Day. We had a couple kinds of pizzas and a salad. It was great. The crust was thin and baked perfectly in their wood oven. The toppings were delicious. We were able to bring our own bottle of wine. It felt like a really good neighborhood place. Perfectly clean and welcoming. I am a pizza maven (having searched throughout Italy for its' best) and highly recommend this place.

I walked by it the other day and thought it looked like a nice place. I wonder if they deliver to Park Slope.

wtf is 'za?

ohhhhh, pizZA.

it's bad enough when the posers say "let's go out for a pie" or " hello, i'd like to order a pie for delivery"

but 'za is ser OTT.
