Streetlevel: New Cleaners for Fulton Street

856-Fulton-Street-0209.jpg
The current Cleaners options on Fulton Street in Clinton Hill aren't particularly compelling, so it's probably a good thing that a third player has joined the scene: Imperial Cleaners has recently opened at 856 Fulton Street between Clinton and Vanderbilt Avenues. Anyone been yet? GMAP

Does anyone know what the approximate rent is for a space this size on Fulton.

No, but what happened to Bubbleworks? Did they go out of business, or only at that location?

Bubbleworks is gone. Bye. It was terrible, they cut down a tree a day stuffing clothing with a bizarre amount of paper and the fumes coming off the clothes could make you faint. Also it was pay before you get the clothes. This is the equivalent of buying your booze at a place with a bulletproof cashier's box. In the 4 years and 2 months I lived in the Fort Greene/Clinton Hill border, I only got my clothes cleaned here 3 times by local cleaners. (I go back to Brooklyn Heights to get my clothes cleaned). The three times Bubbleworks did the cleaning were not good and once I received a pair of pants back with what looked like a cigarette ash hole near the knee. What a dump.

While I would agree that the cleaners on the southside of Fulton between Washington and St James is a must-avoid (when I moved to my house 7 [!] years ago they "lost" 3 espensive shirts, Kurt in the dry cleaners across the street is as cute as a button and gets the job done (the drycleaning job, boys, the drycleaning job). Of course he is in Trinidad now for Carnival and I will actually have to remember to bring my tickets to get my clothes out...

I use the cleaners on the corner of waverly and greene, right next to the pizza place, diagonal from speakeasy ... tiny, seriously cluttered, and the dude seems angry ... but they get the job done, at a fair price ...

bubbleworks was sooo expensive ... no loss there ....

Uh, you do know that Febreeze doesn't actually clean anything, right?
