Jay Street Up for a Two-Way?
Washington and Pearl Streets are currently the only way to get to Downtown from Dumbo so locals want DOT to open Jay Street between York and Prospect to two-way traffic (like it already is between York and John). The change, which Community Board 2 recently voted to support, could reduce traffic on the Belgian blocks of Pearl Street, points out DumboNYC, but could spell curtains for the Jay Street bike lane.

I drive both ways on Pearl Street anyway... it's much quicker than driving around the block.

Belgian blocks on Pearl Street? They've been getting rid of them every time they do street work.

Anytime a street is setup as 2-way traffic is a cause for celebration. One way streets are an invitation to speed.

i hope they put a traffic signal at this intersection, especially if it goes 2-way. even now it's kind of crazy with all the foot traffic going in and out of the subway.
