Closing Bell: Boa Constrictor in Brooklyn
As first reported by MSNBC, a 4 ½ foot boa constrictor was found in the cushions of the living room sofa in a Bensonhurst home. Two young boys in the home thought something was up when they "felt something moving beneath them as they watched tv. After shaking out the cushions they found the intruder, which fell in a ball on the floor." The kicker—the snake probably entered the home through its toilet pipes. For the future, please do not flush your live snake down your toilet.

That's cool. Ever held a boa constrictor?? It's a very interesting feel.

Maybe wasder should have gotten one of these instead of the rat zapper or a cat?

We had all kinds of pets when we were kids, from cats and dogs, to snakes and lizards. Once when our boa got loose (they are escape artists), we finally found it curled up in the clothes dryer. Boas can swim, but unlikely it travelled through the plumbing...too cold, too narrow to be conducive to swimming.

"the snake probably entered the home through its toilet pipes"
talk about having something with the potential to come back and bite you on the ass!
that is HORRIFYING! I will never sit again down without looking to make sure there are no boa constrictors coming up from the toilet!
At least now I know what my nightmares will be about for at least 2 weeks.....

What does that have to do with park slope?

Actually snakes will crawl down toilets and get into the sewer system. NO flushing necessary. My step-sister had one when she was young and we had to keep all toilet lids closed and latched (yes they make toilet lid latches for people with snakes) to keep the stupid snake from trying to escape via toilet.

Maybe snakes, like chimpanzees, don't like to live in houses, Park Slope or anywhere, and that's why they try to escape!!!!
