Streetlevel: Casual Bistro Coming to 247 Dekalb Avenue

247-Dekalb-Avenue-Brooklyn-0109.jpg
As part of its gut rehabilitation, the former derelict building at 247 Dekalb Avenue will be getting a new restaurant on the ground floor. Clinton Hill Blog snapped a photo of the liquor permit application back in October, and local sources tell us it will be some kind of casual bistro serving hamburgers, beer and the like. Condos or rentals on the two floors above?

I have lived across from that building for 4+ years, and the entire time that building has had scaffolding on the front of it. I cant tell you how happy I am that it's finally gone!! Now if only that dump of a magazine shop on the corner would spruce itself up.

I remember when that was Teddy's. I still would love to open up again Cellars.

I'd love burger joint nearby, uncluttered by french bistro paraphernalia. Now, if only the burger joint was moving onto Fulton near Clinton!

More important than sprucing up the magazine shop, let's bring back the cries for a bookstore! I can think of a dozen empty or might-as-well-be-empty storefronts for books.
