Fig Tree Market on Myrtle Now Open
North Stuy residents have been getting jazzed for the new fresh fruit market at 704 Myrtle Avenue since its impending opening was reported last month. Now, Bed Stuy Blog reports that it opened last week. "Just what this area needed!" proclaims the blog. Unfortunately, another hotly anticipated market has yet to open on Lewis Avenue. What's that delay about? GMAP

Too bad about their awning though...as people pointed out from the larger picture in the "reported" link, a maple leaf (or maybe a marijuana leaf) is not a fig leaf and the address is glaringly misspelled "Mytle" but perhaps that was meant to be phonetic for the old-timers!!! :)
"Oh, the perils of clip art" as pointed out by SnarkSlope.
As usual, there were racial overtones in the original discussion of Kosher Maple Syrup and Jewish figs!!! LOL
