Lost City's Guide to Cobble Hill

cobble-hill-photo-0109.jpgAlthough Lost City calls Cobble Hill "more blandly heterogeneous" than its sister neighborhood to the south, the blog still finds it worthy of a neighborhood guide post. (After all, it's still "a joy to walk through.") Highlights of the blog's virtual walking tour include the former Independence Bank (now Trader Joe's), Metropolitan Rod and Gun Club and Warren Court Place. And much, much more...

CH is Switzerland compared with BH and CG. Nice, quiet and bland. Found a nice place on Clinton St years ago, but decided on Carrol Gardens instead for its access to most things incl the Cobble Hill theater and bistros.

hmm - i guess i've found the perfect neighborhood for me though.

bland - check
hetero - check (a minority on this site it seems, haha)
genius - i like to think so

You decided on Caroll Gardens for its access to the Cobble Hill Theater? Does that not sound a tad strange? Never mind the fact that from Clinton and Amity (where I lived for four years), it's maybe a 10-15 walk to the theater. You may prefer CG, but CH is certainly not isolated from all the restaurants on Court and as far away as, gasp, Smith.

uh

wouldnt that be homogeneous

I wouldn't say it's bland but I don't find "bland" inherently offensive. That CH is quiet and pretty aren't really bad traits, IMO. It is my favorite neighborhood in the whole city.
