LeNell's Is Closing. No, Wait, It's Not. Well Maybe...
So first a blog called Lush Life reported that LeNell's, the popular liquor store in Red Hook (and part of a high profile lease dispute last year), had closed; then Eater followed up with news that it was still open. Finally, LeNell chimed in with a comment to the effect that her lease goes through the end of February and after that everything's up in the airexcept a short-term bartending gig in London. GMAP

I was there last Wednesday night. She said they had indeed lost their lease, though she didn't say when it was up. They are not restocking, it would seem, so it's not really the same place it use to be (no Scotch, very little gin, etc....). She was collecting names for a mailing list for when she reopens, but she didn't know when or where that would be....
