Closing Bell: Finally Get Rid of Your Christmas Tree

If you just can't wait until Mulchfest to get rid of your Christmas tree, have no fear: The Department of Sanitation will collect your tree for composting starting today through Friday, January 16. Just leave your tree on the curb (remove all decorations, of course) and feel good about helping fertilize parks, ball fields, and community gardens throughout the city.

Yay! I was going to wait until mulchfest but a) it's kind of a long way to drag my tree and b) every single needle will be on my floor by that point.

ooooooh, why does the holiday season have to end? [as I wipe tears from my face]
Can't we keep christmas decorations up all year? Why can't there be inflatable Santa's on roof tops in July? I want the city aglow with little blinking lights on bushes and trees everyday!

trees on the sidewalk kinda gross me out. we love them to death for three weeks and then throw them out like carcasses!
