Checking In On the Isabella Condos

How're sales going at the Isabella Condos at 545 Washington Avenue in Clinton Hill? About the same as they're going at about 95 percent of the new construction projects around the borough: S-l-o-w-l-y. This 63-unit development came on the market at the end of the summer, and 13 units have been released to date; according to the broker's website, two of them have "contracts out" at this point. Have any of you checked this place out in person?

Given its location at Washington near Fulton I am very much hoping this building succeeds in finding people to occupy it whether they be owners or renters. Its pretty nice as the new construction buildings go and I hope that its proximity to the subway and amenities on Fulton make it attractive.

I agree with wasder, location of fulton ave between clinton and washington needs more amenities. Hopefully the new building on clinton brings this as well.

I agree with your sentiments. I hope it sells well. Unfortunately, the prices seem a bit high for this location, and especially in this market. The cheapest unit is 455k and listed (generously) at 710 sq ft, which clocks in at $640 per sq ft. I still don't see Clinton Hill fetching much more than $500 per sq ft.

Looks like a hospital. Really nice on the inside, though, and the location is good with a subway right there and equal access to Clinton Hill and Prospect Heights.
Good luck Izzys.

yup- good location for C. it's 5-10 minutes max to PH's amenities. the exterior does give off that clinical vibe though...

No, but I will. As future rentals.

I've been there and liked the interiors and the finishes. My group represents Clermont Greene in the area, and I think we have the nicer neighborhood, as far as a residential feel, but you can get a less expensive apartment at Isabella.

I've seen them and I was very surpriced how nice they were. The only concern with these new developments is that the developer might be cutting corners to save money in these hard times. At the end the only loser will be the buyers since they would have to deal with higher maintenance fees to deal with the buildings problems. There's a real nice unit for sale next door at a good price. Hopefully someone buys it quickly.

I went in to have a look during the open house in December. The model apartment was very nice (though a little small) but the prices are way out of line for the current economy. I'm happy they decided NOT to go ultra modern with the design so it fits better into the neighborhood. The area has improved tremendously over the years, but still has a ways to go. There are a couple of nice little restaurants and a pretty decent supermarket nearby, but more amenities, like delivery services, need to be added to justify the prices they're asking. Someday it might be worth it, but not right now.
