I'm not sure what to make of this but today is "Day Without A Gay Day"

http://www.daywithoutagay.org/

Can we also have "Day Without The What Day?"

Beautiful photo....one of my favorite buildings in Brooklyn.

Megunski...your compositions are great . What camera are you using?
I wish my photos would come out half as good as yours. Most of the time my settings are off.

Posted by: bayridgegirl at December 10, 2008 8:52 AM

Yes, would love to know what you use for equipment??

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at December 10, 2008 8:55 AM

BRG - why not invest in a digital SLR, the pre-set programs (landscape, marco etc) are pretty good nowadays and can produce excellent results. If you do insist on doing everything manually.....

Ditto, we have an SLR, well, it's really hubby's. He has a Canon, and let's me use it occasionally.
I tend to muck things up when I try to change settings....my photos are pretty good for the most part, but I am a perfectionist.

re-write: for Biff

"If you do insist on doing everything manually....."

Now that I'm re-reading my post, this line doesn't sound right:
"Most of the time my settings are off."

"He has a Canon, and let's me use it occasionally."

*Sorry, that was just too good to resist (insert punchline here)*

Biff, of course it was too good to resist.
You think me a fool? I do at times choose my words.

"You think me a fool?"

NO, NO, NO

smiles everyone, smiles. Peace and love, peace and love.
Can you please check out yesterday's QOTD? DIBS claimed the "pertentious" label and I took the "smug" one. But now I'm wondering if it's the other way around.

Posted by: Biff Champion at December 10, 2008 10:54 AM

Peace and love....of course.

I've labelled you both in the thread.

Wow- Thanks for the compliments. I shoot with a Nikon D70 or a D200. I inherited all the equipment from my father when he died this spring and just started shooting digital in early summer. I have an etsy shop- www.megunski.etsy.com - if anyone is interested and you can see all my good pics on my flickr page, just click through the picture.

Posted by: megunski at December 10, 2008 1:47 PM

megunski is very polite, many photogs don't like to be asked what equipment they use as the insinuation is that if you get the same equipment you can take the same photos. In fact I have better equipment but I won't say I can take better pictures :-)

BRG, kudos to you for going manual, it's the only way to learn what works and what doesn't. In fact I'd suggest you shoot some good old fashioned slide film for a while as a self-education project.

Megunski - Your father would be proud of the gorgeous pictures you're taking.

Denton, you smartypants. I use digital, but sometimes I do like to play with exposures and speeds. Been there with slides. And hubby used to develop his own film....aahh, the good old days.
