Am I the only one that was confused about why there was no Open Thread today?
Posted by: cobblehiller at December 23, 2008 3:04 PM
I was wondering myself. I wasn't confused however.

I'm confused as to what a 'tentant' is and why it would need a gift.
Posted by: Petebklyn at December 23, 2008 3:16 PM
Every thread today was the Open Thread. That's what happens when they don't give us ne'er-do-wells, vagabonds and riff raff a place to play. Regarding "Gut Renovation: Where to Start?", I think I'll need a gut renovation after all I've been eating and expect to eat during the holidays. I need to get back into shape for the Brownstoner Bubble Bath Party.

Hey Dave enjoy your job..
Madoff Fund Operator De La Villehuchet Found Dead
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=aI_dGvx.XITs&refer=home
Dec. 23 (Bloomberg) -- Thierry Magon de La Villehuchet, who ran a fund that invested with Bernard Madoff, was found dead at his office today in an apparent suicide, according to a police officer at the scene.
De la Villehuchet, 65, was a co-founder and chief executive officer of Access International Advisors, according to a marketing document. Access, based in New York, invested $1.4 billion with Madoff, who was arrested on Dec. 11 for allegedly running a $50 billion Ponzi scheme.
Police were called to the Madison Avenue office about 7:30 a.m., said New York Police spokeswoman Doris Otero. She declined to provide a cause of death.
Before the Asshats blow a fuse! I'm not advocating for Dave's demise. I'm pointing out the hardships of the imploding Mutant Asset Bubble and how many people are affected by it!
Happy Holiday's to all my Asshats!

Poster 3:22, if you need the name of someone to help you exfoliate your innards of your gut renovation, I can recommend someone. He'll does wonders.
I feel the same way. I feel like I've pilastered on too much trim, my base is still small, but too big of a saddle and not enough crown.

What...you're still 0-3 for today. Maybe you're over medicating.
Posted by: daveinbedstuy at December 23, 2008 3:48 PM
BTW - I'm still at 0%....

What, interesting story. And I'm glad you're not advocating for DIBS's demise. I'll be off for a couple of weeks but want to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas / Channukah / Kwanzaa and joyful new year, including you What. I'm very glad we've been able to find a way to keep things civil between us this holiday season (thanks for that) and I look forward to continued civilized and informative discussions in 2009.

"Too many Guiness' already, Biff?"
DIBS, there's no such thing as too many when one must deal with Southwestern Brooklynites.
Posted by: Biff Champion at December 23, 2008 4:00 PM
Never been to Southwestern Brooklyn. How do you get there?
Do most of them speak English?

"unlike those I've been having with other posters (such as those who post at 3:51pm...hint, hint)"

"DIBS, there's no such thing as too many when one must deal with Southwestern Brooklynites."
Yep, get nice and drunk and spew incoherent sentences
Maybe the next day, you'll want to retract them.

And the rest of 2009. Yeah Dave, that "Hedge Fund" model is working, NOT!
Madoff Victims May Have to Return Profits, Principal (Update1)
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=a3kFmYaaw5sY&refer=home
"Dec. 23 (Bloomberg) -- Like some of Bernard Madoff’s clients, a Florida restaurant owner was lucky enough to withdraw part of his investment before the money manager allegedly confessed to a $50 billion Ponzi scheme. Now he’s worried he might be asked to give it back."
"The 53-year-old investor, who asked not to be identified to protect his stake, took out about $600,000 this year from his $1.5 million account, using some of it to pay down a mortgage. He and other Madoff clients who withdrew funds as long as six years ago may be sued on behalf of other victims to return profits and even principal, securities and bankruptcy lawyers say."
Boy that's going to go over great at the dinner table this Holiday Season, huh!
"A so-called clawback of paid-out funds in the Madoff liquidation could result in lawsuits against investors such as charities, hedge funds and individuals who redeemed profits and took out principal."
Better learn to "Clinch Up" those Ass cheeks, boy that's gonna hurt.
I will say one thing you better enjoy the rest of this year because 2009 is going to a MoFo....
