Streetlevel: Thai Tony's Takes Off

The 7th Avenue outpost of Kensington-based Thai Tony's has bid adieu. The space, at 447 7th Avenue, is already painted over, but this blog reports that they're just undergoing renovation and will re-open later this month. The folks at the Kensington outlet say it's gone for good. Update 12/19: A new post on Brooklynian says that the new spot will be another Thai take-out restaurant called Fueng Far. GMAP

I called two nights ago and there was no answer, no answering machine, and it was well within the hours it was open. Bummer. They had a more interesting menu than some of the other choices in the neighborhood.

the reason it's all over brownstoner is it had the yippie aesthetic - the reason it closed was AmThai is much better even though it's a hole in the wall joint that will never be mentioned on brownstoner...
