Sorry to go off topic but this version of Winter Wonderland always reminds me of the Marv Alpert "scandal"
"Lacey things, the wife is missing.
Didn't ask, for her permission
I'm wearing her clothes,
her silk panty hose.
Walking around in women's underwear.
In the store, there's a teddy.
With little straps, like spagetti.
It holds me so tight,
like handcuffs at night.
Walking around in womens underwear
In the office there's a guy named Melvin.
He pretends that I am Murphy Brown.
He'll say "Are you ready?"
I'll say, "Woah man! Lets wait untill the wife is out of town."
Later on, if you wanna,
We can dress, like Madonna.
Put on some eye shade, and join the parade.
Walking around in women's underwear.
Lacey things, missing.
Didn't ask, permission.
Wearing her clothes, silk panty hose.
Walking around in women's underwear.
Walking around in women's underwear.
Walking around in women's underwear......"

Are you actually working today DIBS?
I'm one of maybe 10 people (on a floor of probably 200+ people) here today.

She would never say where she came from.

Sometimes when I venture into a comment thread here I feel like walking into some incestuous orgy.
Actually, make that most of the time.

Hello Come Clean, Hmm, sorry you feel that way.
Was there something in particular that made you feel that way...maybe the part where I mention that I'm one of maybe 10 people in my office today? I'm not sure how that could sound 'orgy like'. Or maybe it was the walking around in women's underwear part? (I'm a woman - it's funnier now, no?)
Or was it the Rolling Stones Lyrics? I know...you're more of a Beatle fan, is that it?
Posted by: cobblehiller at December 26, 2008 4:11 PM
Actually cobblehiller, I'm more of a Mobb Deep fan. But the Stones, Beatles, the Mobb - they're all the same.
And forgive me for sounding like a bitch. If I don't like the comments, I can choose not to read them. I get it.
So unlike others (who shall remain nameless), I do not intend to antagonize people or make negative comments for ego gratification.
So it's just a non-judgmental observation. One that I know is shared by others. Most comments are made by the same handful of people, who probably represent less than 1% of the site's readership. Perhaps y'all should physically get together more often. Many seem to have lots of free time.
But hey, this is no attack, so please don't take it that way. This is a very entertaining website.

Wow, this is pretty amazing -- I missed the whole Marv Alpert thing as I lived in another country from 1995 - 2004 and am thus missing nearly 10 years' worth of cultural references. But thanks to Google I am catching up. Wow!
But if you try sometimes, you might find...

Hey all, a neighbor I met on this web site showed me her Bushwick house and hayloft yesterday. Beautiful brick two-family, huge. Covered in the usual linoleum, wall to wall carpet, knee deep in rat poison, old furniture, porn mags when she bought it. Now gorgeous with stained glass, original light fixtures, parquet floors. Very exciting to see it.

Come Clean, I didn't think you sounded bitchy, I was just trying to engage you and include you. 'stoners probably would get together again, and I think there are plans or an idea of a plan for sometime in January, if you'd like to come. But it's difficult to get together when we're all chained to computers and desks! And really most of us don't really know each other - just a few handfuls have met. Feel free to dive in - the water's fine...it wouldn't hurt to mix up the 'gene pool' here a bit!
Hey mopar, what's happening with the great 'museum' house that sprung some leaks? Are you giving up on that one or still pricing repairs? It sounds like you liked that one so much and the speaking tube sounds cool/fascinating!
