Half-Price Sale on Washington

38-44-Washington-Avenue-1208.jpgWhen we first wrote about this cluster of four characterful buildings at the corner of Washington and Flushing Avenues in April 2007 they were listed for a hefty $6.5 million; we later heard that there had been interest from a couple different parties in the $4 million range but that the seller didn't take it. Too bad: Elliman now has the listing at $3,000,000. Oops.

you coulda had 4 Mill and now you won't even get 3 mill - a bitter pill to swallow. Hopefully they now won't be razed at least.

Oops...up...side ya head...say oops up side ya head!

Sell for 2006 prices now or forever be priced in at 2003. Mirror image of buy now or forever be priced out.

Maybe this is cheap enough now for someone to buy and not tear down.

It won't get torn down. No one is going to get the money for a development in that area of that size in this environment.

Lucky it wasn't bought and torn down because there'd be a hole there for a long time.

Has anyone ever been in the Navy Yard Bar on the corner? Two friends stopped in there one night for a beer, and from what they told me, its quite a place. The staff are very "involved" in their work.

Oops indeed. That is one bloody hell of a reduction but the thing is it still appears very very expensive today. Ahh what a tough pill to swallow for the sellers but we love capitalism.
