Closing Bell: Dinner in Park Slope

It's not exactly Al di La, but this red-tailed hawk (correctly identified?) was enjoying his own version of fine dining atop an 8th Avenue building; we believe this was the pigeon course.

Yup, red-tail hawk. I see the nesting pair (they are monogamous for life) buzzing around Prospect Heights and the north end of Prospect Park quite a bit.

still smarting from your misidentification of the wild turkey eh Lisa? Ha ha...

Posted by: wasder at December 9, 2008 4:04 PM

I didn't mis-identify the turkey, it's photographer did!

Posted by: lisa at December 9, 2008 4:11 PM

OK so you didn't make a mistake on the Turkey because.....

its photographer did. No apostrophe required! ;-)

what's "al di la"?

A type of pigeon/turkey stew?

Posted by: sam at December 9, 2008 4:26 PM

Looks like a Condor eating a hawk.

Posted by: bayridgegirl at December 9, 2008 4:29 PM

no copy editing needed in comments. i defend my misuse of apostrophe: coffee has worn off.

That meal looks tastier than the last thing I ate at Bubby's in DUMBO, which, admittedly, doesn't say much.

Biff, your 4:33 post needs the disclaimer.
Wouldn't want to see Bubby's suing you.

Posted by: bayridgegirl at December 9, 2008 4:41 PM

When it is dinner, it's "squab."

Oops. Thanks BRG. Re-write:

That meal looks tastier than the last thing I ate at Bubby's in DUMBO, which, admittedly, doesn't say much. (This is meant in no way to imply that Bubby's (including it's other location in Tribeca) does not offer a wide variety of nutritious, delicious and affordable meals for the discriminating diner).

Someday this disclaimer will end...

Actually, that's me lowballing a distressed property. "Gimme that house, fool!" Hostile takeover.
