Checking in on 221 Conover

221-conover-1108.jpg
We haven't checked in on this building on Conover and Van Dike since October of last year, and, man, it pretty much looks the same (one reader described the architecture as "growing up Gotti"). The permit revealed a three-story, four-unit building, but that's about all we know. Why isn't it listed anywhere? Is it rental or co-op? It's now got at least two neighbors to boast about, the old Red Hook (Sunny's bar) and the new (Fairway). GMAP

Maybe the plywood fence will stay and you won't actually have to look at it as you pass.

Can you get a four story plywood fence?

Where is this in Bensonhurst?

I've been watching this one for awhile. "Growing up Gotti" is a good way to describe it.
The garage is big enough to fit a good number of Hummers.

removing the parts in the front and the back that jut out would bestow a sense of proportionality. second, you can remove the silly looking balusters and put in a proper cornice. and if you still have any money left, it'd be great to take out the a/c units and put in some larger windows. A 500K job, perhaps?
