Streetlevel: Wellness Center in Ditmas Park

Third Root Community Health Center, "a worker-owned cooperative business providing accessible, empowering, and collaborative healthcare in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn," opened on November 2nd. What does that mean, exactly? A sliding scale fee for personal yoga classes, nutritional consultation, acupuncture, massage therapy, etc. Another addition to the Cortelyou-area business boom; this one's at 380 Marlborough Road. Channel 7 did a story on it, followed up by Ditmas Park Blog. GMAP

It's a beautiful space run by amazing people. I've only done the group acupuncture so far, which was very relaxing, but I heard the yoga classes are great. Visit the website for a good explanation of the sliding scale fees.
