Streetlevel: Novo's Retail Tenant Appears

Those who complained that those big new buildings on 4th Avenue were breaking some cardinal rules of successful urban planning, including street level retail to make the urban fabric vibrant, take this: the Novo's got a first floor tenant; Gowanus Lounge snapped a photo of it on Friday (and reported it's the spot where cancer patients go for chemotherapy). Sure, the "Park Slope Ambulatory Infusion Center" might not be the ideal tenant for Novo-ites, but perhaps it's better than some of their sister 12-story buildings, with nothing but bricked up facades greeting the street.

With the signage front and center like that, it only reinforces the "institutional" vibe of the building. Oh well. I wonder how much Ambulatory Care had to pay for the "Novo Naming Rights"?!

Good. Communities need hospitals. Ambulatory Centers need spaces that are near transportation and parking garages. Buildings need solid tenants.

No surprises here, this was a MH deal from the start. From the facility to the intern living there as housing.
Craptacular. "Park Avenue of Brooklyn!"

I don't see this as a bad thing at all.
How much more retail does Park Slope need anyway?
No one is shopping!

Yep, and it's across the street from a kidney dialysis center.
And Pep Boys, if its only your oil or antifreeze that needs to be changed.

A medical facility is better than a food facility in a residential building any day. A friend used to live in the building where Balducci's (now Citrella) was on Sixth Ave and the "pest" problem was continual. Plus lower floors got odors.

You might want to check - space might be restricted to Community Facility use - meaning medical likely in this market.

"'institutional' vibe"
That's funny. How 'bout some residential tenants? What's the score now?

I think he wants to know why people bought overpriced apartments in a hospital.

Joist,
Your reference was funny.
What I said next should have went on it's own line. I wanted to know the % units sold so far.
