michael-allen-desserts-1108.jpg
Desserts by Michael Allen, at 1015 Fulton Street between Grand and Downing, is still in "pre-opening." Later this week, wi-fi and chairs are coming, so you can sit and blog and enjoy a mixed berry macaron or creme croustada. If you fall in love with the treats, you can try to make them yourself. Their Web site includes recipes. Click through for an interior shot from our pop-in yesterday.

Yes, we need more business investment like this on Fulton Street!

Putnamdenizen--was looking out for you this past weekend. How was your Halloween?

I really hope they do well! The construction there has really isolated that stretch of Fulton, as well as the sketchy meth clinic attendees and the crack dealers on grand - I hope this place can bring some good vibes to our area...

miss priss--it is remarkable how sketchy that part of Fulton is isn't it? Strangely I have yet to feel threatened by anyone there but there is no doubt that this section of what should be a major commercial thoroughfare is way behind where it could/should be.

Also, Are you referencing clinics that you know of or are you generalizing? And don't you mean methadone clinics as opposed to meth clinics?

I also am glad that this bakery has opened and will patronize it to help it stay in business.Although my waistline might have a little to say about that. Anyone been yet?

I just went and ate an apple walnut tart. Nice!

How is the coffee and how early do they open?

I wish them the best. I gained weight just looking at his custom cakes. He is quite a pastry artist. I'm impressed, and will have to stroll down to Clinton Hill and have a taste. I'll have to jog back to Crown Heights to work it off, too.

I did not have the coffee at the time but the espresso machine needs to be fixed as of this afternoon. They will open at 7 am!!!

I had a lovely round sourdough loaf for dinner. Washed it down with a glass of water with an Emergen-C packet in it. I need a girlfriend.

Creme Brulee!!!! cool addition to this section of Fulton. We need more retail options in underserved Clinton Hill. This area is about to turn a major cornerstone.
