Development Watch: Progress at the Health House

When we peeked in on 93 Nevins in August, it had made progress, however slowly. The plan was to maintain the existing facade and add two more stories to the original two-story building, along with solar energy and a host of other green amenities. Looks like developers R & E Brooklyn and Green Depot are finally nearing the late stages. Alas, it's just in time for the market downturn. Many are curious about how green building, which is often more expensive than traditional construction (and this has been in construction since 2004), will fare in the current wobbly market. Will buyers still pay a premium for radiant heat flooring and mold-free sheetrock, or for renewable energy that will be cheaper in the long run? We'll find out when these hit the market.

I walk by this development every day, and have seen little if any progress over the past several months. I don't think it's near completion.

I must agree with Boerum Hill. I walk by there every day too. There's rarely any activity in that place.
