Choice Atlantic Revealed!

It's a busy time over at Choice, where things are about to go from beloved neighborhood cafe (and Flea vendor) to borough-wide food empire. As we reported back in July, Choice will be opening a new location in Dumbo's J Condo; the Greene Avenue charcuterie and flower shop is also expected to open Wednesday of next week. Now, to top it off, signage on the new Atlantic Avenue location went up last week, and we got a tour of the construction yesterday. The Atlantic Avenue location (999 Atlantic between Grand and Classon) will include a small retail component up front, with coffee, pastries and prepared sandwiches. The bulk of the operation is food preparation for the three of other locations as well as an expanding catering business. The big news: Choice has hired the former sushi chef from Blue Ribbon sushi and will be selling sushi out of the Greene Avenue location, as well as offering it for delivery and catered occasions. Bring it on.

Nice. I'm looking forward to the smell of baked bread and other goodies wafting through the southern end of the neighborhood.

How might this affect Foragers? I doubt Peas and Pickles will feel the competition...
Is there anything else for food down there now?

If they open at 7AM, Provisions may have a competitor for my early morning coffee run.

Huh? Where on Atlantic is this?

We need something like this so bad in Stuy Heights.

Dave, what is going in at your place? We are eagerly awaiting it in the hood!

Greene Avenue? Is this related to the Choice on Layfayette?

kjp216: This is right next door to AutoZone which is next door to White Castle. I hope they do a brisk business with all of the garage and gas station attendants and sanitation workers, maybe cops. I don't see anyone strolling over to that location - it's a very commercial strip.

I will gladly stroll over to Atlantic and Classon for breakfast. There's not much in the northwest corner of Crown Heights for cafes or coffee except the newly opened Bristens Eatery and Abigail Wine Bar, and besides being several blocks south, those are both still kind of figuring things out. It's not just Auto Zones and White Castles -- people live around the corner.

I'll gladly go there too. If you're in southern clinton hill, closer to Fulton Street than to Lafayette, this is very convenient.
