What Should the Name of WT's New Venue Be?

"Work has been getting off the ground pretty s-l-o-w-l-y for the last month," writes the owner of the club-to-be at 210 Prospect Park West, who also owns the Lower East Side's Cake Shop. "All of the typical factors are to blame... DOB hoops to jump through, etc... but, starting this week, it's going to become more and more obvious that something is happening in there! and it'll all be happening faster, going forward," he wrote on Brooklynian. "That said, some things just take time (inspections, liquor licenses, thinking of a name, etc) and there's nothing anyone can really do to speed it up (especially the naming part)." Well, maybe Brownstoners can help with the latter part; got a name for them?

I feel that the name should use "terrace" or at least allude to it. Or maybe "The Roundabout" due to its proximity to the rotary. The bigger question is how the patrons of Farrell's across the street will respond to their new, chic neighbors.

chic?
have you guys been to the cake shop?
theres nothing chic about it. They sell cupcakes, records and have shows in the basement with 3 dollar busch pints.
its seriously the best venue in the city. When this news first came up it seemed they would only have acoustic like shows which would be a huge bummer. Cake Shop has great booking and hope they book similar bands at this place. Regardless I will trek the 20 or so blocks to go here.

Dave - Do I win the "pile of cash" this time?
Posted by: SnarkSlope at October 8, 2008 2:27 PM
"Pile of Cash" is so pre-crash Snark. There was a movie years ago about a hustler and his father told him always to get real estate. We are getting close to a point where cash is no longer king.
Or maybe a gift certificate to D.B.A

And sorry, I was not inferring that you were a hustler.

Bravo Windsor Terrorist!
"Connecticut Ruffian" and "Universal Video & Photo" made me chuckle.

Keeping with the theme, I like Gateau, Tart, Torte and Stollen.
For "pretentiously ironic" I like VDO.

"And sorry, I was not inferring that you were a hustler."
No worries. I'm old fashioned and still prefer the pile of cash (left on the bedside table as tradition dictates).
And before it slips my mind again, a shout out to Windsor Terrorist.

My apologies Santa, when I said "chic neighbors," I was referring to anyone who isn't a drunk retiree with burst nose capillaries and a fondness for fistfights. I'm more excited than anyone for this place (I like kayess's suggestion of the name VDO), it'll just be an interesting social experiment.

Santa,
It should not be chic it should be "sh** neighboors.
