Home Ec Goes Retail in Gowanus

The folks from Flirt, the 5th Avenue boutique of hand-made clothes, got their hands on the Gowanus Space called Home Ec a year and a half ago. They've been teaching Brooklynites to get crafty at the 303 3rd Avenue address ever since, and now they're stepping into the retail side of things. Part of their 2,000-square-foot space will be devoted to selling hand-made homey things, many of them designed here in Brooklyn. You can also get some custom-made goodies there, like curtains and pillows, and some crafty notions like thread and needles. They're shooting for a November 1st opening.
