Streetlevel: A Florist for Front Street

45-Main-Street-Florist-1008.jpg
Dumbo's gain is the art community's loss. The big corner retail space at 73 Front Street (in the ground floor of 45 Main Street), which has served as temporary space for art shows in recent years while it was on the market, has finally been snapped up. The new tenant? A florist. That's gotta be one serious flower operation. Big space! GMAP

Given the size, I'm guessing there will be some kind of wholesale side to the business. Friggin' great for the neighborhood. And if any Brooklynites will be able to buy flowers during the recession/depression, it'll be Dumbo-ites.
