One Arrested in Fort Greene Shootings

de-lux-1008.jpgOne of the people involved in the mass shooting in Fort Greene last week has been arrested, Gothamist reports. Paul Wint, 22, is believed to have been the driver of the SUV that was used to pursue the victim, Lethania Garcia, and fleae the scene. NYPD believes that there were two other men involved, both of whom are still at large. More coverage (along with aerial video) at NY1.

Xander, Lethania Garcia is the dead guy. The one shot and killed inside the salon.

Wint appears to be the driver, and, while important, I'd personally like to see the guy who chased Garcia into the shop and then shot him in the head in custody. That's the guy who keeps me up nights thinking about guys like that walking the streets. It just doesn't seem human. I know it IS, unfortunately all too human, but I wish it weren't. And while we can debate the socioeconomic downturn and the effects of poverty on people who commit these kinds of crimes until we're blue in the face, people who can do THIS are, in all likelihood, sociopathic. Not a remediable condition. And not a response to poverty.
