Foreclosures of the Week

While it's a far cry from Dekalb Avenue, this house at 78 Adelphi Street is in Fort Greene nonetheless and therefore noteworthy for its inclusion in this week's list of foreclosures coming up for auction. The 2,200-square-foot three-family house has a lien of $520,465. Over at 768 Macon Street in Bed Stuy, a 4,200-square-foot brick house will be on the block with a lien of $559,819. Both props were originally scheduled for auction back in July, but got a stay. The auction takes place tomorrow in rooms 261 and 274, respectively, at 360 Adams Street.

Even a far cry from Myrtle. Kinda sucks that there are some decent brownstones so close to the elevated BQE. Imagine the spike in value if some kind of Brooklyn Heights modification was done to the BQE and the Navy Yard furthered it's reinvention. Of course that's at least a 25 year foresight.

That IS a sad house on Adelphi. It is very far outside the landmarked distict. There are high-priced Park and Madison Avenue addresses not far down from much, much cheaper ones. It's all about location.

That's a nice old wood house covered in stucco. Would make an interesting renovation project.

Gosh, I live a block from 78 Adelphi. I might be tempted to take it on, but how does one go about buying a foreclosed home?
