F. Martinella's Ready to Roll
It's almost go time for one of the biggest retail mysteries of the year. As per a Court Street spy, there's now a sign in the window that F. Martinella, the high end deli venture from Boar's Head, will open on Monday in its new space at 117 Court Street. Readers may recall the speculation and ultimate cracking of the case that consumed us and other blogs for much of the past year.

Remember just because they did do a pretty quality job with the space, tile floors, nice equipment ie:turbo chef oven, good layout .... It's still just BOARS HEAD MEATS! now if they could have only opened a Schaller & Weber deli then it would be reason for excitement.

Take a look in the windows, there is a great deal more to it than sliced meats. Remains to be seen if any addition to area take out scene, which is pretty strong. May i plug la bagel delight? superb vegetable tofu cream cheese

Even if they have more than just deli meats it still won't matter... because it still comes from the main Boars Head commissary kitchen where things like gravy and salad dressing still are "made" fresh everyday by simply cutting open plastic bags and placing in the proper container.

It LOOKS nice (I walk by it a lot). But, it's just a deli... I don't see the allure. Unless, a deli is what you are craving.
