DUMBO Art Under the Bridge Festival
This weekend, the Dumbo Arts Center presents Art Under the Bridge Festival. The festival features over 65 new public art projects, over 100 open artist’s studios, and video installations at Galapagos Art Space.
Begins 7 p.m. tonight and runs through Sunday, September 28. FREE.

BAM TAKEOVER
The Brooklyn Academy of Music presents TAKEOVER, a one-night-only, all-night open house party. The event features live music, DJs, movie marathon, and a Rec Room lounge with Wii, Guitar Hero, ping-pong, and arcade games.
Saturday, September 27, 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. $20 in advance, $25 (cash only) at the door, Food, refreshments, $3 beer available (cash only). 30 Lafayette Avenue. (718) 636-4100.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s Chile Pepper Fiesta
The Chile Pepper Fiesta begins at noon in the garden and includes various events like tastings, cooking tips, musical performances, and a chili taste-off.
Saturday, September 27, Begins 12 p.m. Free with the purchase of admission to the garden (Adults $8, Seniors (65 and over) $4, Students 12+ with valid ID $4, Children under 12 Free.) 1000 Washington Avenue.

8th Annual Coney Island Film Festival
This year's Coney Island Film Festival features one hundred twenty five films from around the world plus special events. Films screen at Sideshows by the Seashore and The Coney Island Museum.
Opens tonight and runs through Sunday, September 28. Various ticket prices $6-$45. Sideshows by the Seashore (3006 W. 12th St.), Coney Island Museum (1208 Surf Ave.).

5th Annual Pie Social
The Fifth Annual Pie Social in DUMBO sponsored by Bubby’s raises money for NYC public schools. Show off your pie baking skills or just sample others’ delicious pies.
Sunday, September 28, 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Bring 2 pies and get your tasting tickets for $10. Just eating pie, receive 5 tasting tickets for $25. 1 Main Street.

Brooklyn Modern: Book Signing and Panel Discussion
PowerHouse Arena presents a panel discussion and book signing on “Brooklyn Modern: Modernist Aesthetics Touching the Past.” Author of the book, Diana Lind will be joined by Jonathan Butler, founder of Brownstoner.com blog, and Tina Manis, founder of DUMBO architectural design firm, Tina Manis Associates.

Last Call!

Head down to the pop-up park at Pier 1, Brooklyn Bridge Park, for its closing weekend of the season. Over 190,000 visitors have enjoyed the waterfront cafe, the views of NY Harbor and the NYC Waterfalls, the grass mounds, benches, and the borough's largest sandbox.

Pier 1 will be open through Sunday, September 28
Hours: 3-10pm Fri, 10am-10pm Sat & Sun.
