Prepping for the Dumbo Arts Festival
If you walk through Dumbo right now, you can see all sorts of preparations under way for this weekend's Art Under The Bridge Festival. Perhaps the coolest is the last-minute sculpture that's been trucked in from the west coast and is currently getting installed in the arch underneath the Manhattan Bridge.

Funny, but when I saw the picture above, my first thought was that something fell down from the bridge, then I read about the art installation... ;-)

definitely going to check this out. is this related to what's going on at Galapagos? is that red & white stripe on the stairs "art"? Maybe I'm getting old and just don't 'get it'.

1842, I thought the picture above looked like a rollercoaster just took a dump. Does that mean I "don't get it" either?

I didn't say I don't get it, prospectheightsguy, in fact, I think it looks interesting and would like to check it out. I just looked quickly at the picture and thought there was an accident before inspecting it further and reading the caption below. Take it easy there tough guy.

prospectheightsguy is a music journalist who is "anti-car" per his profile/posts, so clearly is enlightened and gets it all.
i'll still be there enjoying the art, especially the rollercoaster poop.

goldie, that's the funny part. Like you, I'll be at the Dumbo Arts Festival as well. And I know I won't be too pretentious or insecure to crack wise at pieces I don't like and genuinely admire those I do.
