Closing Bell: Brooklyn Bridge as Catwalk

Should you be standing on the Brooklyn Bridge in six-inch heels (or whatever the male equivalent might be) at 6PM tonight, you'll have company. The Bridge will become a runway tonight, hosting Fashion Indie’s No Sleep Till Brooklyn showcase of designers: New York Couture, Love Brigade, Brooklyn Royalty, Zulema Griffin, Mandate of Heaven, Angel Lust, Dannijo Jewels, San & Sonali, and the Fashion Indie team.

I assume the bicycle lane will still be open. Hopefully there won't be any accidents caused by rubbernecking cyclists speeding down the ramps.

There would be less chance for accidents if you got those people out of the bike lane!

I agree, Denton. But as a cyclist who regularly rides to and from work over the bridge, I'll admit it's usually tourists who unintentionally/unknowingly pass into the bike lane. Speaking of which, I couldn't help but notice the relatively new "Yield to Pedestrians" signs on the bridge, one of which can be seen in the photo above.

This should be fun for all the poor folks who are biking home over the bridge. Watch out, fashionistas!

I think that the mad cyclists perform a public service running over the excess number of tourists on the bridge. In the nature conservation world, it it is called "culling the herd".
It is good for the environment.
