Development Watch: 202 Myrtle Avenue

180-Myrtle-Avenue-081108.jpg
The shoring's done and excavation underway at the first of four buildings John Catsimatidis has planned for Myrtle Avenue. The first one, at the easternmost end of the site, will be nine stories and will, in all likelihood contain some kind of supermarket; the second building, which won't get underway until the first one's complete, is slated to have a drug store, most likely Duane Reade. Because of the economic environment, the four buildings are being financed and built as four separate projects.

C'mon, whose going jump in to talk all doom and gloom about this development.

No one is going to talk about how this is never going to be built.

Anyone....anyone.....?

I'd say that the fact these are being built one at a time - due to financing difficulties - speaks volumes.

Let's make a date to check back in 2020 and see how many of the four have been completed.

c'mon snark - don't you realize that this a computer based designed image made to appear like work is actually ongoing here? it's all part of the conspiracy to make it appear like developers are actually still getting loans, buildings are still being built, buyers are still getting mortgages, renters are still paying rent and businesses are still signing leases. all of the development in downtown bk is really just a sham aimed at muting your negativity. thanks for helping us see the light.
