Development Watch: 175 Vanderbilt Avenue Revisited

175-Vanderbilt-Avenue-0808.jpg
On the lot next to what will be a new Chase bank, work on a new six-story, seven-unit building is now flying along. We're dying to see what this will look like; we're not encouraged by what the developer's decision to turn a brownstone ground-floor apartment into a garage around the block on Clinton Avenue says about his concern for aesthetics. Let's hope he doesn't do the neighborhood wrong on this one too.

I wouldnt count on this developer doing the right thing. In addition to the debacle on Clinton Avenue mentioned by Mr B, he has certainly screwed the restaraunt next door to this construction with his very delayed construction overshadowing their eatery.

Just to clarify some things, 174 cliton is owned by a man named Stuwart Vener. He has nothing to do with the 175 vanderbilt ave project. Please know your facts before posting things on the internet for everyone to see. If you care that much it is public records to see who owns what, if you are that bored with your life you can go check. Also to address the LUZ issue, we are very good friends with the owners and keep in very good contact with them to make sure our project does not effect their business in anyway. Thank you.

Also if you are worried about our style in devlopment, please go look at 325 carlton ave that was a shell for ten years before we renovated it to look almost identical to what it looked like when it was built. In edition, in 1992 when NO ONE wanted to live in Fort Greene we renovated four buildings on the corner of Fulton and Lafeyette which we have recieved many compliments in the community about. So please don't confuse anything we do with what was done to 174 Clinton. Thank you.
