See Wilco, Save Parks

The Wilco concert at McCarren Park Pool next Wednesday may be sold out, but tickets are left for those who wish to support the Open Space Alliance for North Brooklyn. Yes, little did the rabid alt-rock fans know it, but the show is a benefit for the non-profit that works with officials and community members to shore up green space in Williamsburg and Greenpoint.

Actually, Wilco has a "Causes" section on their web site where they regularly announce which charities may benefit from their shows:
http://wilcoworld.net/causes/index.php
So the "rabid" fans have probably known this longer than you might assume.
