Closing Bell: Mural-in-Progress on Fourth Avenue

4thavemural_0808.jpg
Here's a look at a small snippet of the Fourth Avenue beautification process: a mural is being painted on the vacant lot near Union Street, and Brooklyn Bread Company and Maria's Mexican Bistro. We can see a few waves poking from behind the scaffolding. Says our tipster who sent in the photo: "I can suggest many other eyesores that can use some art!"

I think this is next to the City Water Tunnel # 3 parcel. It is not a "vacant lot" and will actually be turned into a park after the water tunnel build is finished. I think I read about the park on this website! Anyway, love the mural ... 4th Ave. has come a loooong way!!
