An Update on 18-29 Jackson Place

20jacksonplace_0808.jpgLast week, we reported on the South Slope property, 18-20 Jackson Place, that had crumbled in last year's hurricane and was slowly being resurrected, though perhaps not in the most neighborly of manners. Since then, we poked around on the developer's Web site and found a rendering of what's to come. The architecture doesn't seem particularly offensive, though some of their other projects (pictured on the jump), including this particularly odd one leave much to be desired. But we felt a lot better to learn from the developer's description of the project that, "As always, only the best materials will be used." What a relief.

Is it just me, or it it going to be a wee bit hard to maneuver your car into the 3 bay garage with a tree in front of it?

Aw, let's just cut the tree down, that would be easier and more to the developer's style.

And I love it when architects take the existing structures out of their renderings. While this is a R5B district, this building is far from contextual to the 2 story frame homes on the block, many of the Queen Anne style (tho those are more frequent on Webster Place).
