Streetlevel: TKTS Booth Opens Downtown to Much Fanfare
We just got back from the kick-off party for the new TKTS booth at Metrotech Center. Tout le monde was there. We're pretty excited about thisit's a nice boost for Downtown Brooklyn. Broadway performers and politicians galore in the slideshow.

TDF is great. The only drawback is, that like everything else at Metrotech, it is not open in the evening or on weekends. So although you can buy tickets for the Saturday Matinee on Friday afternoon, it is no help for most weekend shows.

TDF is completely different than TKTS.

i don't go to many shows, but with a tkts booth in brooklyn (near where i work) i'm more likely to hit up a day-of show when the mood strikes, now that i don't have to go to manhattan.

TDF is the organization that runs TKTS. So I intended to praise them because they run the booths and ALSO other discount ticket programs.

The TKTS booth is great. I just bought tickets for tonight and you don't have to wait in line for hours if you want to watch a show.
Plus, I'm sure the tourists will love it.

Yes, I'm sure both of the tourists in downtown Brooklyn at any given time will love it.

There was a TKS booth in downtown Brooklyn for many years.

Can't you simply buy the tickets online? Who needs a storefront for this kind of operation?

In a way, dobro, it may be. The entertainment at the press event was by "Forbidden Broadway," the performance that spoofs other performances.
